I've doing curbs, stairs, railroad ballast and single track on my steel gravel bike with a carbon fork for 5 yrs with no problem. Not sure what driveway gaps are...
Not all carbon is created equal but I wouldn't hesitate with any bike you get equipped with a carbon fork.

Think I am going with the Pivot, it has the Bosch motor, 750wh battery. Found a shop that will get the price within a hundred of the Heckler. Spending way too much but in theory won't need to upgrade anything.

I got a chance to demo a bunch of eMTB in whistler including bikes with Bosch, Shimano, and Rocky Mountain's in-house motor. The Rocky Mountain motor is by far the best experience for mountain biking and it's not even close. It doesn't have any lag or jerking feeling when it kicks in and it puts out noticeably more power than the others. It felt like riding a normal bike but with superhero strength; all the others you can feel the motor kick on/off.

I have a bosch motor on my cargo bike and it's been plenty reliable and hardly noticeable in that application but on a mountain bike, I'd get the Rocky Mountain in a heartbeat.

Lol. True.. but, I'm dumb enough to do so. I get bored when I'm out just to "exercise".

Very true. What bike are you referring too?
    I'm looking out for a sirrus 3.0, with a Fact9 carbon fork.
Would be less of a concern if I purchased it NEW, but I sticking to the used market since it's just a occasional use bike.

Driveway "gaps".... I cant resist them. :cookiemonster:

Been slacking hard lately on both the MTB and EMTB. I wanna ride the E and get back home quick to knock some stuff out while still getting a long ride, but I’m gonna muscle it out and just watch the clock! Caffeinated of course. State parks back open till 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I can’t do any art, I’m glad to just be able to fluff some milk at the moment.

Went OTB on Sunday morning landing on my hip I am really paying for it now. I have a very large Hematoma from my left hip all the way around to my lower back with it being about 4inchs wide and a variety of colors LOL. Went to the doc this morning because pain was extra good and came back with the best result possible, no broken pelvis or lower back. The doc said pain is from all the surrounding swelling and nerves in my lower back being pinched/pressed causing random discomforts/pain. Soonest I am able to return to work is Tuesday 9/17.

Be safe out there everyone, this was a bit on an eye opener for me as it is my first 'serious' crash on a mtb and a bit humbling/disappointimg for myself. Accidents do happen and I feel it's good to talk about these with people who ride. Keeps it a bit more in perspective of the actual danger/injuries mtb riders have..

As for me, ill be here resting and icing these next few days. :pccoffee:

It’s not so fun to be outside in reno the past few days. The highway down to southlake tahoe has been opening/closing intermittently. And north lake is still kinda smoked out from a handful of fires north of Tahoe + Chico

But I am getting an injection soon in anticipation for snowboarding so maybe that’ll get me out for a handful of rides at end of season :fingerscrossed:

I’m about to order up a gaggia soon. Not as nice as the profitec but it seems to have a big aftermarket which should fit me nicely haha. I’ve been digging some lattes with honey recently, a nice latte before and after a ride will be so nice haha

I got mine new open box from Clive coffee, not cheap by any means, but $800 and I’ve been drinking espresso every morning for months. It pays for itself eventually!

I hear ya... I haven't escaped a variety of injuries recently. Broken toe, fractured rib, sprained wrist, nasty bruises, gashed shin... Still riding with the toe and wrist, though they both hurt like hell every morning. I consider myself lucky though, as none of these have been too bad. I have time to heal in December...
Riding bikes fast through trees and rocks in loose and steep conditions is obviously dangerous. You roll the dice, sometimes you come up with snake eyes.

Same here. Yesterday and today are non-ride days. Throat hurts just walking. Fires this year are pretty brutal.

Glad to hear your still out riding. As you said though, lucky none of these have been to bad, I just happened to roll snake eyes two rides in a row.
Unfortunately this prolongs the comeback to self-proclaimed greatness.

    Here's my Taco .. all cleaned upIMG_20240912_114114485_HDR.jpg

Here's my new rig I built up last week. Still trying to get comfy on the new geometry. I love the way this bike looks, but I hate getting used to new stuff. This thing is basically a complete rebuild so it'll be a while before I lock in manuals and spins like I had in my old setup ... Rad ride for sure and much more comfortable to ride.
