I'll be down in Roanoke. Looks like next week is supposed to be dry, colder overnight but mid-40s during the day.

With the holiday's in the middle of the week this year both work weeks are going to be shot so hoping to get some miles in. And it gets me away from the Hallmark Channel that runs non-stop at Moms :frusty:

Well glad I only paid $510 each for my Labomba Pro's. That's cheap enough that if any issues arise with the frame I'm not out, plus part manufactures will probably help out as well. With it being a DJ, it's made to take absolute abuse. I would've been angry had I purchased their DH bike like I wanted and found out their ceasing operations.

I don't think GT has made any official announcement yet, so as of now it's all athlete and employee based information. They may have something set up on the side for warranty situations.

yea huge bummer GT is pausing everything right now. Phil Mketz (idk how to spell his name) mentioned in his IG post the GT owner tried to buy it from PON (whoever that is) but they declined.

I remember during Covid when the bike manufacturers were doing retarded shit like making PPE, not even sure if any of that materialized. That killed supply, but people were paying like twice MSRP for a boring chameleon 7 and the bike manufacturers thought that price gouging was going to last, now everything is on sale and demand is way down.

I find myself wanting to buy more bikes not because I need them but because they’re so damn cheap right now.

Once the snow starts really flying, regular biking is just not worth it for me. I love to be in the mountains more than anything else, and the modes of fun are usually tailored to that end. I do love the desert, though that's a difficult mission right now with the little man in tow.
This really has been a weird start to the winter season though. With the shitty conditions I probably could have skipped a weekend or two and went riding instead.

    not enough.
haha. you back on your feet then? we checked out the new firefly trails the other day. it's quite the drive but if you like machine build flow and jump lines with wood. awesome stuff. BIG stuff. And then Lehi's new jump line was awesome a few days ago. Probably all soggy right now.

I’ve heard the riding there is great! Haven’t gotten down there yet. Hopefully the weather is decent though cause I’m seeing a lot of rain next week over here in northern Virginia haha

I enjoy it. The Explore Park is close to my parents house so I ride there a lot. There are a lot of other good places around that I try to hit on weekends. My only complaint is I wish some of the trails were a bit longer but that is what laps are for. Overall a good time and different from Florida. No matter how good of Florida shape I am in the first ride with hills always kicks my ass.

Hoping the weather holds out! Forecast looks dry through Christmas.

Kinda. Healing as expected. I can snowboard just fine, but riding bikes may take a minute. TBH, kinda nervous to get back out :(

I saw that stuff on some FB posts, looks super fun to try out. I'm still building the new bike, getting the Arrival ready to sell, dialing in the 5010 too. Lots of winter bike-work "projects" to keep me busy. I keep getting the itch to ride, but I'm purposely delaying in hopes that the real snow arrives. Every season has its fun.

now that my bike has shipped here’s what had happened. Keep in mind my email was sent a couple of hours after my shipping shown delivered. I didn’t want to share this, bc then it creates a frenzy where people just start messaging sales claiming all types of issues which could cause them to redact offers possibly. I know they’re halting business for the time being which is why I believe the employee was so easy going and just like, “here’s a bike, sorry”.

A whole free bike due to some stripped bolt holes on a fork? Sounds like a deal to me. I'm not too familiar with Manitou forks but I would guess you could use it for spare parts?

Haha even going from northern VA to western VA where there are actual mountains I can feel the fitness difference haha. It’s amazing how humbling mountains are, even our “small” Virginia mountains haha

I was about to say, that’s like complaining about drum brakes on the Tacoma. Lol

I do see some dirt jumpers shipping with front brakes, is that a safety thing and they assume the end-user will remove them?

Personally I'm glad they do ship them with it. They're not powerful brakes and letting someone else ride the bike at the skate park or pump track may make a beginner feel more safe.

If I still had an extra dropper lying around I'd put it in the bike and make it a city cruiser, our skatepark is in such a large spot for restaurants and just urban city living It would be nice.

@levie125, does Huntsville have a skatepark or pump track?

What’s everyone’s opinion on dirt jump being 27.5 versus 26 with 26 inch wheels becoming less and less common?
