Spider mountain is just about 50 minutes from me. I’m not kicking doors down to get out there for a $50 price tag with only 5 runs formed out, but I’ll go eventually.

Oh man, as far as managing expectations, I totally get it. Youtube has taught me that there're much better/larger/intense parks within a day's drive from us. But with all that we have in the city up here, I'm stoked somebody is even making the attempt with the extremely limited terrain selection around here. $50 is probably steep for what they have now/will have, but as somebody who's never been to a downhill park on a bike, I'll gamble that much on a good time!

Woo! I joined the Tacos and Bikes club. Also in Texas, but I've got a lot of learning and endurance to build up.

Medium! I would recommend 5'9"-5'10". I'm a bit taller and it's little tight unless I wanted a longer stem (gay)

getting sidelined with an injury during ski season means i have more time to give the bike a good off season tune up. this is new stuff to me so i wanted you guys input on the state of my rear cassette. I am putting on a new chain for this season and was gonna old off on the cassette but now that i have it off the bike i'm not sure if it should be replaced. replace or hold out a little longer?

Firstly, I'm a cheap-ass. Secondly, that cassette probably would work just fine for a another 100 miles or so. With that being said, cassettes are pretty cheap and since you already have a new chain they would complement each other nicely
