I guess I have no excuse then seeing as all the vehicles in my garage are paid for :burnrubber:

Ok, you’re back in the fold. But your lights just incurred a price increase

Not that I am suggesting this as a logo, just thought it was funny...someone said a couple of posts back they had this idea.

That’s the internet, if you thought of it..it’s probably been done.

Just get the 1up, then you don’t have to wonder... SD 2 carrier.

Congrats man! Huge step. After my neck injury my helmet felt like a bowling ball. I had to slowly go for longer rides, then short off road rides, adding in time slowly.
You’ll get there. Just be consistent. Atrophy is hard to reverse.

^ x2. I got a Thule T2 Pro at a really good price but frankly I wish I hadn't and had just gotten the 1up to begin with even though they never go on sale. I know for 100% certain there have been rides I've bailed on because I just didn't want to futz with the thule.

I suspect before long I'll sell the T2, take the hit and buy a 1up.

I have a Thule T2. I don't understand why people dislike it? I have owned it 4 years in the Las Vegas heat. It spends 80% of its life on my truck. Plastic is strong and flexible. I have offroaded with it with and without bikes on the back. I have drug it multiple times saving my rear bumper. Thing holds up great and keeps the bike sturdy on 4 hour plus drives at 80 mph. I'm pretty happy with it and have never had any issues and feel it has been taken through its paces. I recommend it to everyone.

It's heavy and when the rack is up (think a 90deg backwards L) and off the vehicle the balance point feels weird, so it's a bit cumbersome if you're taking it on/off frequently. As it blocks the backup cam I don't leave it on all the time which means it goes on when I want to ride and off when I'm not. Also on the Taco, I can't put the tailgate down without it hitting the pivot area of the rack.

Lastly, I had a real bad experience with a normal T2 where the front wheel plastic "scoop" mounted to the metal of the rack via two simple 1.5ish" self tapping screws. Within 10 uses all around town I went to put my bike on one day and saw that the plastic at the front screw had cracked and the front of the scoop wasn't even attached to the rack anymore and the rear was showing stress in the plastic so I suspect it was going to break soon. Luckily I saw it before I put my bike on there, but had I not I wouldn't have been surprised if my bike would have fallen off the rack. I got lucky that I bought it from REI during one of the member 30% off deals, so not only did they take the T2 back, but they applied the same discount to the T2 Pro.

The T2 standard had two screws mounting the front wheel scoop, whereas the T2 Pro I think has five? Still it's left my paranoid and I check the basket on the T2 pro every time I use use. All in all it's a good rack, and was probably $250-300 cheaper than the 1up would have been and I have friends who have used a Thule for many years with no problems. But when we're talking $5k+ carbon bikes I'm gonna be really bummed if one day it drops it on the ground while driving due to plastic to metal mating all cause I wanted to save a couple hundred bucks.

That’s fair. I have one and love it, I was curious why you didn’t like it. It’s heavyish but definitely more awkward. I just leave mine on for the most part since I’ve been riding almost weekly this summer. I haven’t seen any interference with the pivot point and the tailgate, so that’s odd.

So your Pro XT won’t allow the tailgate to open, regardless of the position of the rack? I think @113tac said he can put the tailgate down on his 3rd gen if his Pro is tilted away from the truck. Its entirely possible I misunderstood him though.

I have the T2 pro, not the T2 Pro XT. I don't know about with the rack tilted all the way down, but I know with it in the down position where I would normally have a bike on it, it will hit. Ideally I'd prefer a rack where I can have a single bike on the outer tray and put the tailgate down without it contacting the rack or having to tilt the rack down.

To be fair, the T2 pro I have is a pretty good rack, and definitely a step above the T2 classic, but the issue I experienced with the t2 classic has left me gunshy against any rack where a major bike contact point attaches to the rack via plastic and self tapping screws.

That's a good looking pup! Trying to add a trail pup of my own before too long. Just need to get through the busy season at work first. Plenty of places around here are off leash, but the one closest to my house is a strict on leash spot.
