Anything holding you back from tubeless? Dropping rotational weight and lowering a few psi will do wonders for bike handling.

Yep, in simpler terms, they allow you to run a little lower psi in the fork (giving you better small bump compliance) but keep you from bottoming out at the end of the stroke. It’s all give and take though. Too little pressure and you’ll blow through travel until the end and hit a hard spike. For a 32, I’d start with one and tune air to give the ride characteristics you’re looking for. Again, rebound adjustment is crucial after you change air since pressure dictates rebound as well. Fast, but not pogo.

    The phone/camera mount?

Haven't used that specific one, but I do use a similar mount from SP Gadgets.

Yes the phone mount...I read SP nearly copied QuadLock's system. Really not sure which route to go with, both look to be pretty secure for mountain biking

well, I have tried going tubeless in the past. My wheelset is not made for it. So I used the tape. Even bought a compressor. I could just never get a really good seal. After fiddling with it about 5 or more times over a year I finally gave up and decided I will wait until the next bike and get a tubeless wheelset.

Hmm, okay, Ill look into tokens if making some adjustments doesn't get me where I want. Thanks again for all your help!

I have tried quadlock. On a mountain bike I found it to vibrate a lot. I had one that was attached with fancy rubber bands. So while I wasn't super worried about the phone coming off, it was flopping back and forth a lot. I eventually gave up on the system because I hated the thickness of the case. The area where the locking mechanism sits is thicker then the rest of the case which did not feel good in my pocket.

After that, I completely gave up on mounting my phone to my handlebars. The quad lock was the best solution I had tried.

No need for a $50 pump. Go to your LBS and grab a $25 analog shock pump.

Also for measuring sag; another alternative is a dry erase marker on the stanchions then when the fork compresses it "erases" where it sagged up to. No harm done

Sorry I was late replying to this, it took me a little while to walk to my desk this morning

I have 3 different set ups.. The one in the picture is my least favorite. Bomber Strap. Doesn't protect the truck very well and the new Tacoma has that big ass lip on top of gate, so bike doesn't sit very well. My 2005 Taco had the skinnier gate top and bikes sat better. I have a Swagman Patrol that I use for 2 bike outings and I just bought a Rockymounts Monoroail that connects to the towing hitch. I really like this quick load and go and it's expandable to 2 bikes, if you desire.

I'm pretty sure I compared the two back when I purchased my current phone and, really, the only reason I went with SP was due to a Veteran group discount. I went all in with their case and mounts over two years ago and haven't had any troubles with them on the bike mounts. Their arm band material separated on me twice, but that's probably due as much to the sweltering heat and humidity here in the South combined with my sweat.

This is their bike mount that I can swap between pedal or moto. I use a Voile strap to hold it down. You can swap out that insert for whatever base is needed, phone, camera, etc...

I owned the Solo version of the MonoRail for about 36hrs. Was a well built rack, as most all RM products are. But not being able to lower the tailgate all the way was a deal breaker.

Yeah, the tailgate thing is kind of a bummer, but hasn't been an issue for me yet.

Running a topper makes having full tailgate usage mandatory. If I was sans topper, I would have made the exception. Rocky Mounts are underrated to me.

Good time indeed. I see a lot of those snakey brookies out here in California in high Sierra lakes (I grew up in the Smokey Mountains though). If I remember correctly they reach sexual maturity much earlier than actual trout, and if not in their native range tend to reproduce faster than their food supply can accommodate.

My first real bike is a Stumpy 29er st base model. For the price not bad ive put it through the ringer (from bike parks to rocky northeast singletrack) especially for a 130mm bike and its held up very well except a rear hub recently. I would definitely try and demo one if you can though because they do have what feels like a very short reach compared to other modern trail bikes.
