They work reeealll good too. So they are cheaper and come with a one piece pad for each side. You can upgrade to 4 pads per caliper, so each piston gets its own pad. The only difference between these and the MT7s which are way more expensive is the 4 separate pads, and the lever is adjustable. I LOVE my mt5s

Haha dude I am way overbiked for memphis. Im about to put a coil on a 150/140 mm travel 29er and ride mostly xc trails. I do travel to Arkansas to ride a lot and the trails get wayyyy better. I just like popping off of everything I can find. Around me if you get creative you can hit some good drops on the xc trails that the spandex guys never hit. The jeffsy gets tossed around at the dirt bmx park too, but the roscoe is way easier to flick over the lipped jumps.

I get to ride DH once a year, when I do I get the downhilliest of DH bikes because im not used to that luxury. Its why Im putting a coil on the jeffsy haha.

Going to try and start making the trip to windrock now that I got another rock crawler. one day 4 wheelin, one day mtb

Where was all this Stache hype a few months ago when I was selling mine???

Had my situation been different I never would have sold it as I loved it as others are mentioning.

We weren't hyped you were getting rid of yours.

It's like those SCS wheels. I got them before the fever hit. I just bought them one Tuesday because it looked cool. Then like 2 months later, they blew up and good luck getting a new set. You're just a trend setter we didn't appreciate at the time. :D

Bahaha well that might be a stretch.

But for the record I did preorder mine when the current/redesigned Stache was released in 2016. And rode that beautiful Barney purple bike like a boss for 3 yrs :hattip:

Oh and I can sympathize on the SCS thing. I was running stealth 6s on my 2nd gen when they only had the f5/s6/SR8s.

I think im the only person who doesnt like the newer scs and new trend of wheels on the tacomas, nothing against them and if you have them and like them, that is awesome. Just not for me. I almost put old school D window steelies on my tacoma but couldnt find any with the correct back spacing

I like the look of mine, but also like the look of the steelies the more I look at them. Saw one of the 19th Group hilux in town at lunch, and the steelie look is super cool. Really gives off the OG "expo" vibe

The spare is a similar steelie if im not mistaken. Im talking about these:

Just some plain ole black steel rock crawler wheels. My FJ40 has them but it has the circle holes and not the D's

Kind of want to just throw some on the tacoma for shits and giggles. They are only like $50 each if i do end up getting a set

That’s hot af. Purple is my second favorite bike color though. That Miami green is still my favorite. I wish I could find a trek stache 5 in that color with the rigid fork. Perfect singlespeed bike.
Hey man I rock the spandex bottom half during the summer and hit some decent drops/jumps hahaha

I’ve had numerous conversations with Vin (SCS owner/founder) about incorporating more non-faux lock wheel models or options into the lineup. As awesome of a guy as he is to do business and chat with, the reality is that consumers with similar tastes to me are the minority.

That may be completely off from what you were referring to. Just meaning to say, I understand where you’re coming from. There are things about the SCS wheel lineup (my SR8s included) that I don’t like. But as a whole they are still some of the only aftermarket wheels I’d put on a vehicle of my own.

I just wish I could get the stupid water out of the lip after a wash. Usually have to blast it with the air compressor.

I’m a huge fan of the newer method trail wheels. I love that stockish look wheels without the fake headlock have.

    Oh word. That'sa gorgeous FJ.

Yeah, the american racing ones like the top need wheel spacers for the taco ones. Despite all the math saying they should have worked they fooled both discount tire and myself when we were figuring whether they would work for my buddy.

Haha thats different than most of the guys in my area. Its like they are road bikers on the trails.

I get what you are saying. I might just say screw it one day and get the steelies though. Cant find any pics anywhere on the internet of anyone having them :/

Dude, get a grout sponge from home depot for like$2 you can soak up like a quart of water with one squeeze with those things

Wow man it was made for ya...just add some gold accents. This geo looks very similar to my steel Kona Honzo hardtail.

Thanks, thats what I normally wheel, the 3rd gen taco has 265/75s and is basically just a DD. I do tow the fj40 on a tow dolly with it. Its pretty awesome at it to be honest.

Here are my options for the Steel D window wheels....

    • Wheel Size: 16x8
    • Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5
    • Backspace: 4.25

    OR

    • Wheel Size: 16x7
    • Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5
    • Backspace: 4

I think the 16x7 will be closer to the stock wheel width and backspace.

I learned from some OGs that created the Harrisonburg MTB scene when I was in college haha. Baggy shirts with spandex is the way to go for comfort/mobility. Most guys in spandex aren’t as technical haha
