    Kinda looks like catastrophic failure that’ll be covered by warranty. Or extreme use/abuse of a fork way outside it’s intended range of use.

    Took this during one of my last weeks as a Lefty tech at Cannondale. Working on a bed mounted system to keep overall length down

    I was gonna to the same thing aStrauss but before I spent $57 on the header rail I made one from bits around the shop. I had first envisioned fastening the fork to the mount then sliding it back but thought better so I had to move the left side over enough so the thru-axle would clear. Doesn't look too bad.

    I picked the rail up from my local dealer, their price on it was only 45 bucks. My shortbed is too short to properly fit my Habit 29, even with the fork mount on the bulkhead, so I needed as much length as I could get and a floor mount wasn’t going to be an option, unfortunately. That looks solid though!

    A bike may be the only reason I bought a longbed. Oh and the fact that whenever I travel with my family we pack the kitchen sink too!

    One day I’ll win.

    bike is at the bike shop now. Part will probably take 4-5 days to come in. Was gonna upgrade brake levers but using the same caliper and rotor meant extra cost for the same braking capability and a completely upgraded brake system isn’t justified on the cost of this bike. So. $45 fix and will be good to go for next weekend!

    Weekend impromptu Fruita and Moab trip was a blast. Drove down to Moab with a stopover in Fruita to get some of that fun 18rd runs in. Camped out in Moab Saturday night, and holy hell did it get cold. 22* when I woke up, didn't even have it in me to make a coffee. Shoved all my crap in the back, drove to town and grabbed breakfast before the 8:30 am shuttle to the gemstone that is The Whole Enchilada. Up top it was 25* upon arrival, and 65* by the time I got down. 4 hours total, 35 miles, 2500 up, 9700 down, mostly technical tough riding with plenty of gnar thrown in. It's so unreal riding TWE, going from 11K to 4K and the high LaSal mountains through the sandstone and hoodoos of Moab. So much variety and fun in one ride makes it feel like such a huge adventure. A world-class ride, something I would whole-heartedly recommend to any avid mountain biker. If anyone here goes and needs some recs, let me know, I've spent plenty of time there.

    How old is it? Not knowing the year or much about Diamondbacks, I think for a little more money you can get a new hardtail at that spec level. Like a Trek Marlin. This is the most entry level spec’d Marlin you can get below. Brand new and looks pretty nice. I’d recommend visiting a local bike shop though and test riding some bikes and sizes depending on your size/height even though I’m sure you probably did already. But if not go! They’re very helpful. Either way. Have fun and good luck! Nothing’s better than forgetting about the world for a couple hours or day while your cruising through nature :bikewhoops:
    And Don’t skip the helmet purchase.

    Ha. Both of these things earned me a trip to the hospital a few years ago. I know a sucker deal when I hear one now!

    :headbang::headbang::headbang:

    Hell yeah man! Love the TWE. Get it done once every year and I always look forward to next year!

    I got a solid ride in today, the weather was perfect here all weekend! A little rain last night brought the trail up to slightly less dry than normal haha
