Indeed. Luckily, I guessed correctly with the XL. Their elastic waistband makes them even more comfortable.

The current temps in NC are fairly annoying, though. Still too warm for the thermal stuff, but also too chilly for just shorts. I have to guess every time I head out.

Black Friday deals at CRC are going off now too. Personally, MTB specific shorts and jerseys can't be beat. Fit right, move right, dry right, and are durable. Spend extra coin now, enjoy being more comfortable longer.

That's exactly what I've been using. If I get too hot, I simply take them off and stuff them in my pockets.

Thank you guys for your honesty. I was back and forth between 3000 and 3500 but went for the higher just because of the newer parts. I am planning on listing on PB too but I remember a couple guys interested here, thought I could get lucky.

And to the guy looking for MTB clothing, check out JensonUSA. They are always running sales on apparel.

My pearl izumi shorts have lasted the longest and my least favorite - but my fox shorts are my favorite but the liners don’t last.

Agreed, my Fox Ranger shorts are awesome but the liner that came with them is lack luster. The liner I got from Amazon for $12 has been hands down the best.

For those of you in the market for new gear, Zoic is running a "Mega Sale" on their website. A quick glance of what they are offering looks like some pretty good deals. I have some Zoic gear and have been pretty satisfied with it. Comfortable and has definitely held up to my abuse.

Zoic Ether shorts are the tits The short + liner combos are a little much, but after a few pairs, you can just buy the shorts for like $40. Also, check moto shops. A lot of the MX jerseys are literally MTB jerseys with maybe different graphics. A lot of the troy lee stuff is exactly the same for a bit less.

I like my Zoic shorts but yeah, the liners are so-so and kind of snug while the shorts themselves are almost too big. I have several pairs of Lycra padded shorts from the old days, and using those as liners under my Zoics and Endura’s (one pair of each) works well for me. I ride about 1.5x per week, year around, typically 10-20 miles per ride, and both the Zoics and Endura’s (Humvee Lite) are holding up well. One pair of my liners is Cannondale-branded, made in USA, at least 25 years old. My Pearl Izumi liners are at least 10 years old and look like new. Brand names can be worth the extra $$.

Yeah, this time of year always stinks for post work rides. But night rides are cool too.

Stopping is the enemy on RL. If you can suffer through it and just keep moving you will be better off.
