I know some of y'all will scoff at this but I commuted and it was 19 degrees this morning

Pretty good for a Tennessee guy with janky cold weather gear

well then, I remove my /scoff. I commend you sir for being resourceful.

also, idk how close you are to us in North Alabama...but I know the temps are the same and it's cold as balls outside. downright disrespectful for it to get cold this fast, and I love the cold.

Negative on both... I've had a 2x2 cycles rack on my motos for years now and never an issue with high winds, even on I-95 to/from FL/NC. The only time it gets some buffeting is when close to the tractor trailers but then I'm usually on the throttle to get past them as quickly as possible with or without a bike mounted up. My wife has a Prius with a roof rack and I've compared the gas mileage on both with bikes; the moto wins, hands down, and is more fun to ride to the trails/race.

    On my old moto.

Soon to be relocated to the new-to-me moto...

Will do. Trying to negotiate family plans at the moment and given the trains, planes, and automobiles for all of us to get there, I'm worried I may not get my bike time in, but I'm trying.

Ahh Cary. I bought my first serious bicycle at Cycling Spoken Here, back in the late 90's while I was at UNC. Merlin Extralight. I knew how to use my grant money back then. I still have that bike, only now hooked up to my Kickr. Ti does literally last forever. I think that shop is a Trek store now.

Man I want to visit Bham so bad. I have been to SE asia numerous times and I always tell myself on the way back I will stop for a few days - but i always wind up absolutely exhausted and just want to be home.

In other news, I finally cut the latch cover off my raceface pad. Dont know why I didnt do it sooner, and I dont know why RF doesnt make it removable or easier to permanently fold up. I get that you can tuck it in side, but then you are putting the rougher material against the paint. Only thing left to do is run a section of padding under the pad on the corner of the tailgate for some added cushion.

True statement, but I've had mine that way more or less permanently without issue. That said, I agree that they should have made that flap tear away velcro.

I'm hitting bellingham cuz I'm flying in and was just gonna demo a bike again from Transition. Maybe next year I'll take a week off and go hit all the proper Seattle spots for old times sake.
