Yea that's my plan. I tied twisting my ankle as far as it could go, and still nothing lol. I'll get to it sometime this week.

If your shoe is still attached, I had to put my shoe in a location that I could unthread the screw by turning the shoe and then once I got the shoe off I had to jam a screwdriver in there to get the cleat out.

I agree that it may flop, but it's not all that different than the Salsa Fargo and other unique MTBs designed around drop bars. With its normal front triangle, it may make for one hell of a bikepacking rig that can handle tougher routes that include genuine singletrack. Very few drop-bar bikes can do so...comfortably.

It also looks badass IMO, so there's that. I'd rock it. Because, why not?

I think the Fargo and Cutthroat are beautifully designed bikes. I’d take either.

I'm with you, this thing is awesome. I don't really have a need for this kind of bike, but it's cool.

Yeah... Niner really died on that hill when they planted and defended the EBB as their flagship. It's just such a poor design for maintaining chain tension where there's a crap load of flex with lateral and torsional forces.

Maybe be too late for the guy that asked about 5.10 sizing, but I think they run a tad small. I wear 10.5 in ASICS or Brooks running shoes, but 11 for my Freeriders. And I tried Contacts in 11, had hot feet and general discomfort, went back to normal Freeriders and they’re much better.

I see no point. I'd rather rock a light weigh FS XC rig or steel hardtail. Either would do everything better than that thing.

I don’t think this is being offered as a superior option to other platforms (because they’d be morons if they did); i’d guess that there are finally just enough people that like drop bar bikes beyond road, gravel, and CX applications and maybe even prefer them to straight bars on all but the most technical stuff.

    Options are good

Exactly. Same way Cannondale marketed the Slate years back. Jack of all trades, master of none type of deal. I got the SIR9 when it was brought back and it was so good that I ended up selling my gravel & full sus. As dry as the bike industry tends to get, its nice to see things spice up some.

Five Tens will be here Friday! I'm excited. Haven't had an actual pair of biking shoes...just been using my tennis shoes.

Nah, they're too stiff. Definitely just a riding shoe with occasional social beers duty

I think people that blow through them wear them as casual shoes. I dont know why you would want to do that as they arent comfortable walking shoes. All my 5.10's have lasted a few years. My current pair are on the way out but just wont give up.

I have a pair of the Impact Low that I've had to re-glue the soles to on the nose and sides. They didn't use a great adhesive for those flex areas.

Agreed. My Five Ten climbing shoes didn't even make it thru one season before they delaminated on the sole-warranty process took forever
