Gotcha. There are two dudes that commute on Fattys that I always see around 700E and 9000S. One commutes literally EVERY day. Pouring rain, snow, hot AF: He's riding

I still take my bike during the winter. I rode almost every day last year. Rode in several snow storms and it was fun on a fat bike. I don't do the rain because of the sensitive electronics.

Ive got a question for you guys. I’m trying to adjust my rear derailleur (GX 11 speed). It shifts fine up and down. Only issue is when shifting into the big ring. The derailleur (upper pulley) is getting caught on the big ring basically stopping everything from moving. I have to shift super slow to get it to shift without contact.

I just replaced the chain, I matched the length to the old chain. B tension looks good. Hanger looks straight. I have no idea what is wrong. Any one have any suggestions?

Sounds like you may need to adjust the b screw more. Or your chain is too short.

I’ll play with the b tension a little more. Hopefully it’s not the length. I think I started with an extra link over the original chain and that was too long and had to take one out.

What is the angle of the cage when your on the biggest cogs? For a new chain measurement, go around biggest cogs without going thru derailure , then add two full links to the nearest connecting links

    Some vids to start...

Make sure you set b-tension at sag. Make a HUGE difference with SRAM.

Is there any better feeling than when the factory sag guidance comes out exactly as planned? Obv due for some trail tweaking, but spot on during the "dining room setup" test.

Well, I’m getting back into the groove of riding my gravel bike. It’s like a giant mud sponge here on all the trails. At least we have plenty of dirt roads!

Stumbled across this response by Richard Cunningham on PB to a singlespeeder thinking about trying full suspension. @ridge and his bikes were the first thing I thought of  respect

"Sadly, dual suspension offers no hope for you and your kind. We have never met, but I can visualize the sun baked leather skin, flecks of gray in the unshaven face, the furrowed brow, the distant gaze, the zero body fat physique with skinny legs and arms that can pound out 12-hour rides without a drop of water or a gram of sustenance. I can feel the half smile you crack as you motor by enduro bros down sketchy descents. You, and all of your million-feet-of-climbing retired firemen friends have the skills, lungs and legs to humble dual-suspension contemporaries at will, but your septuagenarian muscle memories are evolutionary cul de sacs, stranded decades ago when the land bridge to rear suspension collapsed into the sea.

There is a glimmer of hope, however. You can rent a high-end DH or enduro bike at almost any bike park in the world, and for a fleeting weekend enjoy the sensation of floating above the terrain at one with and in complete control of a mechanically superior machine. Welcome home, pilgrim."

Local grocery store had Cran-Razz Clif Block sleeves for $0.81/ea yesterday. Usually 2.50ish a pack. I looked like a mad man in the checkout line with the last 21 of them and a coke yesterday.

I opted for a slightly different solution to the same problem.

I also just got the kB Voodoo bed bars. I have a couple Mounts to put on cross bars too. It will increase my bike capacity to 4!
