Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s for the plunger style remote. I have the 1x paddle style remote.

I've only had experience with the plunger style. Looking forward to deleting it off my sentinel real quick for a oneup.

    Anyone interested in a 170mm 31.6 Reverb?

God, routing droppers are such a royal PIA. If you're planning on having the shop take care of the BB if you remove it, might as well just take it to them as is. Tell them what happened, and let them route the whole thing.

And since they do it all the time, it'll take them like 20 minutes to do what will take you an hour +.

For real. I was struggling with my seat post routing a few months ago, wasted like 1.5 hours. Had to run to the LBS anyway so I took my frame in. Literally under 10 minutes, but they cheated with the Park Tool. I picked one up that day.

That's one of those tools that you never need right up until you REALLY need one.

Def gonna be taping my new dropper cable/housing to my old cable before I pull it.

Unless someone pops up with some miracle trick, thats likely what I'll be doing. The manager of the LBS has already agreed to lend me a hand with setting the star nut and cutting my steerer tube. I'll eventually pick up the tools to do those simple tasks but for now I want to make sure I measure correctly for this frame, and cut with enough excess tube to allow for some other frames I'm looking to hopefully move to in the not too distant future.

    THIS!!!

I so wish I had at least attempted to duct tape the old housing to the reverb hose.

Just got exited and yanked the old gal out. Then it hit me. That was dumb. :help:

Yeah wasn’t sure if you could see down the seat tube to the BB with a flashlight, might give you a better idea of why it’s jammed up.

I'm in the same boat as you. I currently have the Yakima Hold-up 2 and was just going to add the additional hold-up 2 add on because I saw a deal on marketplace. However, after watching Yakima's own video on their Hangover 4 I decided to go that route. I drive a DCLB and with the Hold-up w/ the add-on I would be looking at a limousine length truck. The hangover also clears the tailgate when it is down which the hold-up does not. Check out the youtube video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10j0NJDkdCc

The only down side I see is that the rack is specifically only for mountain bikes. Not a problem for my family but it may be for yours.

I have an Alta Rack, which is a very similar design. I really like it. Upside is it is easier to load bikes vs a tray and handlebar clearance is less of an issue. My only complaint about any of the "shuttle rack" style mount is be prepared to lose 10-30 sq ft of your garage any time you don't have it mounted to your truck. Its one of those points that marketing conveniently "forgets".

something like this? What rake would I be looking for? From reading, 120 does seem to be the travel I’m looking for my interests currently, xc/am-enduro style.

    what’s the 15x100 mean?

15x100 is the hub spacing. Takes a 15mm axle (standard size) and is 100mm between the dropouts. Keep in mind that 100 is the "old" standard and 110 is the "new" "Boost" standard. Nothing wrong with 100, esp for Krampus level riding, but wheel sets are gonna be a little harder to find.

    Non-Boost standard: 15x110 front 12x142 rear

Boost Standard: 15x110 Front 12 x 148 rear (pretty much all bikes come with this nowadays

Also ther is SUPER Boost, but that is a relatively uncommon size unless you own a Pivot or some DaVinci models

To add to what @Gunshot-6A said, tire clearance is something else to keep in mind with that fork, especially on the krampus. You probably want to keep clearance for a 29x3” tire. I don’t know enough about that specific fork but it probably doesn’t have that clearance.

Rockshox tech manual for the Sid say that the max tire clearance on the boost 29er Sid is 81mm which is 3.18 inches. So if you subtract 10mm from that, it comes to 2.79 inches. Depending on rim size, a 2.8 tire may or may not clear. I wouldn't put money on it though.

Take a look at page 20.

That’s a good reference! Yeah I wouldn’t do it personally, 2.8 isn’t bad if it did fit (doubt it on 40mm runs) but that just limits tire choice even more. The 29+ tire market isn’t big to begin with haha

Small typo there. Non-boost standard should be 15x100 front.

As far as forks go, it may be worth using a 110mm hub adapter in order to buy a more future-proof boost fork -- of which, there are several 29+ options available.

I used a simply adapter from eBay on one of my bikes for quite some time without a problem. Hell, depending on what kind of hub he has, there may even be a hub-specific adapter.

Edit: If he can't find one that is hub-specific, here's an example of the generic eBay version I used. It's just a couple of compatible spacers:

Yep, my bad. 100 width is non-boost.

Def would look for a 110 Boost fork if you dont have one, or look into a hub adapter to make your hub fit a boost fork. It will open a lot of doors, esp in the plus tire field.

On some hubs, it's as simple as swapping out the axle with a 110mm version. Not sure what he currently has for hubs, though.
