Both Spain and Italy have temporarily banned recreational cycling. If they do that in the U.S., I may just lose my mind.

We just had two inches of rain after a totally dry February and early March, so the trails here will take a while to dry out and be rideable. Then it’s supposed to rain again. I’ll break out my hiking boots ...

Just be sure to be a dick to all the bikers you come across. Also, feign fear at any opportunity.

Me: *comes around a blind technical uphill corner at 2mph*

Hiker: OH GOSH!........You know you're supposed to give me the right of way right?

Or be like the hikers I saw yesterday...they were coming down a downhill bike only path. I saw them and was like, "you didn't come across any bikes? you do know that you were on a bike only DOWNHILL trail, right?"
    "yeah! we were lucky!"
    "yeah....don't do that..."
    "it's fine!"
"No Beth and Karen...it's not fine..."

Buncha people almost got murdered by a buddy and his group on his DH bike yesterday. Hiking UP Bobsled wearing over the ear headphones is not a wise choice.

Just ordered a set of those Rekons in 27.5x2.6WT exo+, looking forward to getting something a little lighter than the usual DHF / aggressor double down combo. Only about 20% of my local trails require a DD casing, the rest is just basic AM riding. Would like to get my bike under 32lbs for that basic AM riding.

Hate that they get trails that were not "supposed" to be on, yet they feel free to walk their dog off leash on an mtb trail.

Also, I feel the need for a night ride sometime this week.

Let’s all play nice. Seriously, at a community meeting recently to provide input for a new BLM trail system (first Federal land trails in our immediate area) the mountain bikers AND hikers agreed on the need for directional and user-specific trails as a benefit to all users. We have none of either type of trail in our state and local open space systems.

Trails around me are usually in city parks and under 5 miles. Regardless of how well trafficked a trail is by bikers, people hiking are almost always taken totally off guard and freak out a bit when you fly by them.

But yes, I like the idea of specific trails for specific purposes.

I agree. play nice. and I was trying to be nice to the people that I saw using the wrong trail. they ended up yapping back at me and giving me attitude. I wasn't accusing them of anything so they must've known they weren't doing it right. :/ there are plenty of user specific trails in the area I saw them at so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But then again, it all comes down to education of trail etiquette and proper usage. I feel like mountain bikers are infinitely more educated on this topic whereas hikers...they come from everywhere and anyone can hike so they're not necessarily up to speed on these things...there are still dicks in both camps though. :/

I went 2.6WT on the front, 2.4WT on the rear.
Had a concern they shipped the wrong tires when they arrived and learned that Maxxis does not mark the WT tires in sizes above 2.5. So I have a 2.6WT but is only marked as 2.6 while the rear is marked WT. Just an FYI I learned incase you did not already know.

I actually ran into the nicest horse people in CC the other day. Gotta say, they were doing well on the public relations front.

yes I caught that when I looked at your setup / then remembered from when I bought 2.6 forekasters last year. Forekaster’s were an okay back tire but miserable on the front, would easily slip out on wet roots.. where I ride is mostly roots.

To be honest I don't mind the off leash dogs. We don't have any directional trails and share everything with horses and hikers around here. Everyone walks their dogs on those extendable 20-ft leashes and blocks the entire trail. Every time I come around a corner I feel like I'm going to kill myself or someone else
