Hoping so! East Texas. A lot of rural roads in the Piney Woods, some paved some not. Going to search some paths out.

They hold the El Camino 105 gravel bike ride around this area in the fall. I downloaded the course maps from last year's ride to check out.

You be grateful for bobsled! There are starving bikers in Kansas that would kill for our singletrack.

My in-laws live right near the famous Bobsled and I’ve probably crossed the 1000 laps club on it, mostly between 2005 and 2012... anyway, yesterday I rode another less popular trail nearby and had to drop something off with the IL’s and there were about 7000 cars and shuttlers on Bobsled. Insane. It’s fun and all, but not that fun.

Also, I’ve lived that Gnarcouch article on Bobsled. It happens.

    Too close to home... lol.

Bob's changed a whole lot since then man. Last time I rode it was about then, and it's a whole 'nother beast. Go give 'er.

Haha, I apologise to any kansasites I offended. It's just this freaking pandemic man. The wife and I are struggling to come up with variations of BST laps that we haven't done.

In all seriousness, it's pretty unreal to have that trail as a legitimate option for my work commute. There are also so many ways you can ride bobsled that it's honestly hard to get bored of it.

I feel ya man. Rush and Rattler to Gasline in CC are flavorless after riding them the last 14 straight days.

Got some tasty goods in Spanish Fork today though. Jail Trail is no joke!

Just let me know what day/time! I'm pretty flexible and I live right down the hill by the Smith's. Happy to host post ride porch beers as well, assuming we appropriately social distance .

Oh don’t worry, I still get my annual Sled sessions quota. It’s just kind of like the Crest to me at this point, they are great rides, but after you’ve done them dozens of times the magic wears down a bit. I’m also a jaded CO transplant Brocal, but the crowds have gotten nuts on the Sled and Crest in the last few years. Becoming old a brittle doesn’t help either...:anonymous:

TW Sled shred sounds interesting. @SenatorBlutarsky and I (Bart) share some mutual friends (Devin, Erik (6MT taco owner), Alex) that may be interested as well.

What’s the difference from a road bike and a gravel bike?

^That's my understanding when I was looking into them.

Different geometry helps increase stability when riding over rough terrain and you can run wider tires. I don't plan to ride on highways, urban streets or anything similar because I'm afraid of being hit by vehicles.

I want to be able to ride on the road. Not sure if I should go the gravel bike route or just a road bike. I have 3 mountain bikes so not sure if I would want to ride it on the dirt.
