i have the oem tonneau cover and a dakine pad. i can do the first click on the cover with the pad on, but not the second. can fit 2 bikes back there with the cover folded up also. bikes are angled, but they fit. a large transition patrol and maybe a medium (could be large) transition sentinel

This is just so much more secure and nothing is touching the paint on the truck or the bike

Yeah, a Tonneau is totally impractical for me. Too many motorcycles, bicycle, trips to Home Depot.... It would always be open or leaning up against a wall in the garage.

no thats the only angle i have with 2 bikes and the cover on. i took the cover off to fit my bed rack and rtt. the pic above has them at different angles so we could fit the hitch rack on. you could probably fit 3 bikes depending on size and wheel base if they are all the same angle. i know i did 2 pretty frequently for local shuttle runs

ahhhhhhh. For some reason when you say "tailgate cover" I keep thinking tailgate pad...not tonneau

I feel like this thread should change title every couple of weeks to “I should have bought a DCLB to haul stuff that normally fits in a truck bed.”

Just kidding of course. I love all this banter and it’s given me some great ideas even though my truck bed isn’t tiny.:D

Hahah lol true. BUT I can fit almost everything in the bed. Lol. I am no longer a fan of trifold tonneau cover with bike on tailgate pad. Short story, driving on the highway to meet friends for road bike ride. Tonneau cover up, bike on tailgate pad. All going good all of the sudden tonneau cover gets ripped off takes flight hits my bike, knocking it almost out of truck and tonneau cover skidding across highway! Ruined my new $2000 road bike and $1200 tonneau cover. That happened in September had to get new tonneau cover and road bike in October then January bought a new truck hence why I have a new tonneau cover and tailgate to get rid of and I no longer drive with tonneau cover up.

Long time ago I had a bike fly off my Thule roof race going about 70 mph on I-26 outside of Columbia, South Carolina.
Damn fork lever was cinched too tight and snapped the bottom of the fork. My buddy forgot to strap down the rear wheel.
Luckily no one was tailgating us. Only two things needed to be replaced. Brand new Rock Shox and grips and the mtn bike
was good as new. Crazy!!!
