    Bottom line is this.

don’t like Amazon, don’t buy from them.

but don’t be a dick that tells someone how they should spend their money and sit on your high horse like you’re better than them.

I normally really like Park Tools but in this case...

Feedback. All the way. Their jaw system is the best. My wife ran over mine and you can replace all the parts. 10/10 would buy again

most of the time if you take 5-10 minutes Amazon isn’t the cheapest on name brand products. A lot of Amazon’s stuff that can’t be beat on price is off brand stuff.

it’s a great place, and generally on the stuff I order they have the best price. No tax, free shipping.

Amazon has its place for one off items and knock offs that you won’t use much. I’ll never be able to not buy from Amazon completely, bit like I’ve said Amazon usually isn’t the cheapest. Google shopping is my go to for best deals

I agree. Amazon has its place, but in today's age, our most powerful vote is our wallet. I try really hard to buy local or buy from complaines that, as near as I know, are ethical. I buy as much Patagonia as I can afford. I don't own a scrap of Under Armor.

But Amazon's convenience doesn't mean it's the best deal. And how they treat their employees should give us all pause.

As a born and raised Marylander, I strongly disagree. Keep your Virginia out of my Maryland.

Maiden voyage on the new Switchblade today. Lot of thoughts coming from a 68° HTA 140/120mm bike to this. Will need plenty of more seat time to really get the feels for things but so far, glad I’ve decided to try out an entirely new platform.

I hate Amazon and do everything I can not to spend any money with them. It’s very rare I can’t find an item for the same price as Amazon somewhere else. To each there own but I will do my best never to support Amazon.

On the topic of Amazon vs not.
My parents have an amazon credit card, so when I order through their account to get prime and just pay them back, Its nice to have added protection with using the credit card. For example: I had a Racing Sim setup that a cat decided to open the door to my office and go to town on some wires. I was able to get a refund for the products that were no longer usable. (Some of the wires were hard wired in; and yes I did take the devices to someone who works with wiring and had them try to repair, but it was not just a normal USB wire since It was connectors between pieces of the Sim setup) Amazon credit card is also nice because I believe its an extra 3% cash back? Adds up when you buy everything online. I'll buy somewhere other than amazon if its a difference of more than 5% of the items value, but the additional protection plus online recording of purchase date is nice for warranties.

    It’s 5% back and I agree.

And even more savings if you do a subscription. I do this with our dog food for example.

I am headed to PHX in a few weeks and hoping to squeeze in a couple hrs ride. I can't bring my SC Hightower. Any recommendations on a rental shop with guided ride?
    Thanks in advance

Made similar move in the Spring and has taken awhile to get dialed in. My biggest issue was the recommended PSI for the fork was way too high... YMMV

Man, complete bs and exact reason I leave my helmet and crap in the truck. Got to local riding spot and wouldn’t you know the one time I take my helmet out I forgot to put it back in truck. Oh well it’s a 10 minute drive, but still :censored::pout:

Hoping someone can answer this off the top of their head, so I don't have to spend all day digging. My wife has a 2013 Trek Lush that came 3x10. Shimano cassette. IIRC the 11 speed mtb cassettes will fit as a direct replacement right? Trying to get her setup 1x and looking at options.

I have no clue on guided rides but I have rented from Bike Masters(all locations operate the same as far as I know) and Action Rideshop. Depending when your here I could at least take you around south mountain. I know my way around the east side of that really well.

Uhm... Maybe. The year/make of the bike doesn't mean a whole lot. The base components do.

When I switched my wife's bike to 1x it meant new cranks/chainring with matching BB, rear mech, shifters (obviously) and XD wheelset. In addition to just the cassette.

Now, I had all these parts laying around, but it all hinged on the rear hub cassette.

The make/model of the bike is mostly irrelevant.

Unfortunately not, I went out with set time and trails for a 1.5-2 hour ride. The back and forth and such just kinda ruined it for me. Because I’ve gotta go with the fiancé to meet a photographer within 3 hours

I told her we’ve got friends with overpriced photography equipment. Just let them do it lol

Well it’s currently 10spd shimano. I’m pretty sure the old HG driver was the same for 8/9/10 then 11. Wasn’t until the microspline 12 speed they changed the driver. Just trying to verify an 11 speed shimano cassette will fit the same hub driver as the old 8/9/10.

edit to say I *think* sram went to XD driver for 11 speed, but shimano didn’t change drivers until 12 speed.
