Thanks! The crankset is 5mm longer than I’m used to, and the BB is 27 mm lower than I’m used to so 32mm lower than my stumpy. It makes sense why I’d hit so much but I couldn’t figure it out at all.

I’m considering swapping my 29 wheels onto the chameleon and seeing how they do, not just for what we have discussed but just to see how it feels period.

Sweet! I'll be up there for a couple of days the week of the 19th. On the week of the 12th, I'm going back home to the Bay Area and so some riding in Santa Cruz. You should go to SV with the family! Awesome riding there even though it's almost 100 degrees.

Plan to at some point. Stars haven’t aligned for that just yet.

The wife doesn’t love the idea of flying the kids just to have me and my sis go ride everyday and leave them hanging :notsure:

the chameleon has different dropouts for 27.5+, 29, or single speed. They are the removable black pieces that the rear axle attaches to. I think each set runs around $75 or so.

I thought that was already attached to the rear and it just had to be moved?

No unfortunately they are not adjustable. They are specific to the wheel size

Well suck I didn’t know that haha. Guess I need to get a dropout for 29s. The wheels on my stumpy will fit right in, just need that.

As long as your rotors are the same size and cassettes have the same number of gears, then all you need is the dropouts!

Since we’re all sharing our Chameleons….

I use mine mostly for cruising with the family or when the enduro sled is broken (too often!).

Well, I rode AXS today. It works REALLY WELL. I'm not convinced of the value yet but can certainly appreciate the execution. Within a few years I can see this becoming much more common. This all happened aboard a new Salsa Blackthorn which also surprised me. Either I haven't been a big enduro sled in a few years or that DW link is very supportive in the mid-stroke, either way I really enjoyed my time on the bike
