So I recieved my 5.10 Kestrel's and those things squeeze my pinky toe way too much. So I started looking on Adidas again and saw the 5.10 Hellcats were in stock in my size finally, they weren't when I first ordered the Kestrels.

Hopefully the Hellcats work out because they're also cheaper at $75 vs $90. If you go with Kestrel's the reviews are correct size up, but I really don't need a size up I need a larger toe box.

What is up with shoes these days trying to deform peoples pinky toe.

Note, I have the 5.10 Impact Pros and they're perfect, wide squared off toe box. I have the slip on sleuth's and they're also great because the sides aren't super stiff. I have a few other 5.10 flats that are good also, but these Kestrel's do not get my vote.

I have 5.10 freeriders and they fit true to size. Might even be a bit wide in the toe caps compared to normal Adidas. Bummer the other options are narrower up top.

Holiday consumerism/marketing, mixed with potentially some clever accounting tactics re: inventory since those fox factory pads seem to always be on some form of clearance.

what are you talking about "clever accounting"? accountants don't do anything shady in any way shape or form. ;P

Ha, "creative accounting" is shady and usually ends with the FBI/SEC at your door.

"Clever accounting" is above board tactics like "if I have to book a reserve against inventory due to slow moving product going over an age limit or a bad assessment on LCM, I'd rather try and sell it at cost or better even if its technically a steep discount vs the list price so it moves in order to not take the hit to the P&L at the end of the month"

OK, that's enough technical accounting for today. I come on tacomaworld to NOT do my job as an accountant

Maybe it's a clipless thing, I will report back on the Hellcats when I get them. In photos they look more squared, but we shall see.

It's probably to do with clipless since you usually dont want wobbly shoes when searching for pedaling efficiency. But having Kestrels myself, I didn't find them wildly under or over size vs the rest of my footwear. Then again, I wear solomons basically daily which are known for their narrower toe boxes so maybe I'm just used to it.

You guys I’ve still got the Slash, however I do want to have an Arrival as well. Most people just want the frame is my biggest hang up.

I kept the Kestrels and will decide which one to send back later.

Sell the slash, keep the formula 1 level bike of the future. How are you gonna get extra steeze points pulling up to the trailhead with a bike a bunch of people own?

I've got something in the mix, may keep this one may not. Only one person knows the situation.
I will say, the whole "wife, grad school, blah blah" was just easiest way of explaining myself. lol

I will explain myself eventually, but let me get things in hand before completely explaining how I'm trying to get something for nothing.

Yeah I think Dak just bought a house with property here in town, too. I'm assuming they made him whole somehow

Regardless their crony-capitalistic decisions recently have placed them alongside Specialized in my book now.

No idea how much influence the team and the brand have with one another. I see comments on Pinkbike about not shaming the company because a non factory team shuts down.

I traded in the Tacoma for a Ridgeline. I don't want a cover for the bed, a rack over the bed and I don't want to scuff up the paint with a pad on the tail gate. so I put together a pretty cool bike rack with some 2x4s I had. I made it so I can put a storage bin and a couple of propane tanks under it for when we are camping. Figured some would want to see it here as it would be just as easy to do one on a Tacoma. Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the use of materials you already had on hand. What are you doing on the rear of the bike, tailgate area?

I made these stands so that the wheel is nor touching the tail gate and I can still get into the in bed trunk.
