Just got the wine dp3 in small myself.

Crazy what can happen. A guy I used to work with raced cruiser class BMX. Came up short on a double in practice. Wasn't a big deal but he put his foot down to catch himself. Compound fracture of his heel. Ended up getting a bad infection and lost his foot.

Still rides but things are obviously a lot different. He says it wouldn't even have ranked in the top 100 of his wrecks.

 

For a more positive post I'm just sitting on the couch, having a few nice beers, and watching Cyclocross Worlds.

Was supposed to be in Arkansas for it but cancelled back in December due to the uncertainty of crossing the border and quarantines.

We'll try to make it to the Netherlands for worlds next year instead.

 

I may be slow, but everyone will know who’s wearing the awesome red pants.

 

Took the moped out for a scuffle. It has been parked for most of the winter since last time I rode it I tagged a tree at a high rate of speed.
This thing just wants to all day, the body isn't ready but I still had a blast.

 

I ventured from SoCal to Arkansas. Fun to watch the racing. Much of the other spectating experience was poor.
No parking at venue.
Bad shuttles.
No frittes.
Long food lines at the one and only place for food
No local beer on site
Ran out of beer on Sat afternoon and nearly entirely on Sunday - forced to drink the hop flavored water of Miller Lite

Still fun.

No frites? A cyclocross travesty. Where's Pauwels Sauce when you need them?

I was trying to see what people were drinking. It certainly looked like lots Miller Lite. I'm sure any euros that came over were like Wtf? This isn't Nascar. Ha.

We knew there was no parking. We had rented an Airbnb super close.

Still would have liked to make it. Especially to get some warm weather and riding in myself.

 

Cyclocross is dominated by Belgians and Dutch. Their food is at most of the events in Europe of course. One of the big cross team's major sponsor is a fry sauce company.

Rode Allatoona yesterday, was chilly at first but perfect mid day. lmk if you want to ride in the Atlanta area

 

Yep, and no riding for me either. I stayed real close to the venue and walked in every day.
Saw another friend at the race and he stayed in Bentonville. Said his hotel had bikes so they got some rides in.
