Those couple days of summer weather was a nice reminder that i've been drinkin too many hazies and not riding the trainer enough. The trails dried out fast, and I had just finally gotten a good Shorty to find some grip. This this getssss down, 100% confidence in the slop.

That's so true. It comes with major negatives. Afraid this summer is gonna be a wildfire nightmare.

Drought and fire and all that other terrible stuff aside...

I like having ski season to break up the bike season. Most years I'm ready to be done biking as it starts snowing and ready to be done skiing when things start melting out. Lately though, I feel like I haven't gotten enough skiing in before things start melting out.

What kind of trainers do you guys like to use? Im not looking to take my cassette off every time preferably. Was looking at the Wahoo Kickr. Any mountain bike trainers out there that are good?

I'm on the wahoo kickr core. doesn't require you replace anything except maybe your axle. some axles are not compatible. unfortunately. so you buy either Wahoo's new axles or one from the robert axle project... but it works pretty good for my occasional indoor ride. on my gravel rig.

Doesn't seem overly complicated now that I'm looking at it, thanks for the recommendation!

I've put over 1000 hours on my Kickr Core in the last couple years. Love mine. I've never used my mountain bike on it but have used thru-axles, QRs, Campy, Shimano, Sram....No issues.

Takes a few seconds to put your bike on and you're good to go. I just leave a bike on it all the time though.

I got a kickr core last year and it’s been great. I’d recommend it. It has its own cassette that matches the wheel so I don’t have to swap.

Haven`t used them before, reviews were good, the price was right, i thought the name was funny and they came in red, that was the extent of the decision process. They won`t see overly heavy use, not like they`re going on a downhill bike or dirt jumper so they should do just fine. The bearings are very smooth so initial opinions are good, time will tell on the rest.

Heh I mostly ride with the kids to/from school these days.

And yeah, too many DIPA (Block 15 sticky hands) :p

I did just drag my cub scouts through the 'rolling tigers' adventure, though.
