Does anybody have experience with Knolly (Noelee) bikes? I had a good call with their engineering team last night but curious of others' opinions that have ridden their bikes. Knolly is known for the massive amounts of rear traction

Aluminum frame stacked to the nines with good parts! That's a rare bird!

Looks good and looks heavy. Maybe that matters to you, maybe not. I'd ride it though!

I have an older Knolly Warden Carbon and agree with most reviews. I felt that the reach was a little short (primarily because of the virtual seat tube angle) but I think most designs now have the same steep SA. It does have great traction (better than my Evils) but it isn't as poppy. Not that I try to get off the ground too much these days. I'm too old for that.

Of course, I have to add the obligatory shot. I don't get to ride the Warden too much as I shipped it to the Philippines and it is my bike for when I go back to the motherland.

Edit: I ditched the crap SRAM brakes and replaced them with Saints.

On the topic of carbon hoops, I love the Reserve wheels. Beat the heck out of them, bashed spokes on rocks etc. Great ride feel, true after 400 hard miles.

Those SRAM Code Rs tho... not my favorite. Gotta try to pressurize/equalize at the bleeding edge instead of the goopy mess that happens at the lever next time.

I tend to alternate between flats and SPDs, agree with folks that it keeps you on (off?) your toes.

Just bought a Dissector for when it melts out... @abacall has me worried that I'll want to go back to the DHRII.

Ski season right now, but here's some high country hike-a-bike from last summer.

Want to make $500? Just let me know

It's actually a positive for me. Heavy = Tough. I can always get stronger but can't always make a frame stronger

    :rofl::rofl:

Good to know. Steep STA is important for me and makes all the difference when climbing. I'm between medium/large but leaning towards medium. In my mind I can make the bike a bit more playful if I'm able to move it around easier considering I do my share of jumping.

Damn new bikes are expensive...even with hookups

I would try both a Medium and a Large in Knolly. I'm a solid small in Evil but for my Warden, I wish I went Medium. Of course, I think Knolly has "modernized" their geometry since 2017 so my experience may not be representative of the current Knolly geo.

finally signed up for my first bike race. The Bear. an XC race in denver. should be a good first race for me. don't wanna go too ham since i have a 60+ mile ride the next week, but super stoked for it.

another excuse to upgrade bike parts. that makes me faster than training right?

Speaking of racing, any of my east coasters doing Pisgah Stage Race? I’ve been signed up since 2020 but it got pushed to 2021 and again to 2022 due to Covid protocols presenting complications making it a real challenge for the promoter and diminished experience for participants.

Looks like it’s finally happening this year.
