Just got one but haven’t put it on yet. Will be running Assegai front/kryptotal rear (DH/soft). So far the tread looks to be in between the DHRII and the aggressor.

it does come in cool packaging.

Second vote for DT tape. It’s the best tape.

The blue tape and the stan tape are about the same and work ok if the wheels are completely clean. It tends to peel up or get unstuck if disturbed by a tire lever or whatever.

Ive got a set of DT wheels taped from factory and so far so good so I’d agree.

No, but I did get a set of the newer Specialized T9 Butcher/Eliminators in DH casing for the ebike. So in a week or so I can give you feedback on a tire you didnt ask about. :D

That’s what I’m planning on too. I run DD tires, just really like the feel and reliability of them. Soft up front, harder out back.
Just ordered a rear in Enduro soft. We’ll see how they hold up. I trash my rear tires quick, about 400 miles.

I'm running that set up on my bike and have no complaints (especially for the price). Front tire washed out on me going hard over a wooden bridge, but in dirt they have awesome grip.

I already struggle with wooden features simply from them getting in my head. This would be detrimental to me.

    not enough.
Gorilla tape works in a pinch. Whiskey tape, WTB, or dt swiss are all ones I've seen installed at my local shop and they all hold up really well. I've never dealt with muc-off but i can't imagine it would be bad. If you're installing yourself, just put it on your bike or a stand and pull REALLY hard as you lay it down. It'll seat.

I haven't run them nor seen them in person but have read about them and think they're a solid potential replacement for the maxxis minion twins. I'm with you though, the Assegai is quite possibly my favorite front tire. Rear, I'm kinda more indifferent.

POC gear going for 20%+ off at numerous sites.

Is there a model year change going on or are these sales the result of companies trying to supply the increase demand from the pandemic state, and the subsequent fall off? POC is one of several that I’ve seen with reasonable discounts lately.

Pre-Covid, late summer sales are normal to get rid of last year's models. With some of the new bike sales I've seen, I think the market is re-adjusting back to some normalcy.

Makes since, and let’s hope there’s some return to normalcy somewhere in the future.

I wouldn’t mind trying a POC helmet, but their sub-model range is still confusing to me. I understand the overall tectal vs kortal vs axion, etc thing. But the Spin, Race, Spin + Race, non Spin/Race thing is still tough to differentiate for me. That and it seems like POC puts a premium price tag on their stuff and not a single helmet (that I can tell) uses fidlock. I would expect that feature on at least their top tier helmets.

POC and rock shox are both deeply discounted cause they just completely revamped their whole lineup.

POC stopped with their spin technology and is now using MIPS. In theory spin and MIPS are supposed to do the same thing. I don't know what the race part means.

These pants are great. Haven’t ridden in them so my feedback is purely causal usage biased.

I picked up a pair from target. Figured even if they weren’t my cup of tea for riding I’d use them for work clothes. So far I’ve worn them at work several times and they are easily my new favorite for that application. Durability/longevity are currently unknown.

If any of you bargain hunters comes across a Rockshox Bluto at a great price, please let me know! Or a Manitou, but I know a lot of Rockshox stuff is being liquidated as of late.

My fat bike is currently Bluto-less. I don't necessarily need it, but where is this deal?

Where indeed. That’s what I want to know. Mine has a carbon fork but if I can get a suspension fork for trail riding, it would be a nice addition. The rigid fork for chunky stuff beats up my shoulders. Not the end of the world, but if I can find a good deal I may pick one up.

Hey southeast folks, odd request. If you don’t mind checking out your local Toyota dealership or even others…I’m on the hunt for a 2019 Highlander limited platinum without black interior. Seemingly difficult to find lol. Thanks

My wife and I have the same model fat bikes. But she rides hers year round and has a Bluto fork. Definitely takes the edge off. Meanwhile I still have my studded tires on.
