I tend to set mine up so the flat part at the end of the bar is parallel to the ground or really close to it. That would mean rolling your bars “forward”. Should bring the drops in a little closer and create a better angle for your wrists when reaching for the brake levers while in the drops given your current lever positioning.

There's a lot of personal preference that goes into that it would seem. Check out the video I posted up the other day about the angle of your wrist. That might be a good starting point. The hoods look like they're rolled back pretty far but some of it could be camera angle. Mine are rolled back pretty far also, probably not typical, but that's where it's comfortable for me and I can't get comfortable in the drops at all, just seems unnatural.

Could never get along with drop bars, maybe some big flare bars would have helped.

Or just be a flat bar nerd. [IMG]

Late to the convo, but Spire no doubt. Had a buddy on both and said he prefers the TR even on more mellow rides. As mentioned earlier, once you get used to it you'll find it way more versatile than you would have thought.

    Dry? What's that?
It's been an insane winter here in UT. So much precipitation. Mountains have reached 800", still another 6 weeks to go. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if we hit 900" this year. Bases are hovering around 200". Fun stat: Brighton has averaged over 6" per day since opening in October...
There has been maybe a few days this winter to ride bikes, maybe.

This is NOT what you wanna see when you arrive at your destination after a long drive. Could be worse, but I’m still upset with myself.

Ahh that’s unfortunate. Shit happens though I could definitely see myself doing something like that…with my Thule I have forgotten to strap the rear wheel down a time or two

I felt like an idiot when I did that and was just glad it didn’t fall

Selling one of the bikes- would you guys keep enve M7s with i9hydras or M6 s with DT 350s?

I think I’m partial to the m7 and he likes the quieter ones - they’d be going on a trail bike ideally if I pull the trigger on one but on my cross country bike in the meantime

Yep. No one to be upset with beyond myself. It was straight monsooning when I was loading the bike so I’ll blame that for not making sure I had the lock full engaged.

Oh well. No damage to the bike. Just hope the lock fell off at a low speed somewhere and didn’t become a hazardous projectile on the road. Those locks aren’t light. Already sent 1UP an email to see what my options are.

What’s the difference in those rims? The 350s are darn near bullet proof. Both are easily serviceable. I like I9 stuff personally, and have actually been running my I9 hubs on the quiet side of things with the Dumonde grease.

Keep the 6s if you’re putting them on a XC or trail bike. You might get a few more doll hairs out of the 7s with I9s simply for the hub vs the DT 350.
