Nice, I took mine out for a ride and it makes rocky green trails with small features exciting. I was smiling and having fun on the tamest of trails I’d usually ride just to get back to vehicle or for miles.

Two things I noticed, brakes are nowhere near as good as I’d like, and two slow slow tech or through deep gravel is weird when your toe can touch the front tire.

I did get a lame pic of me when riding though, I was “looking the part” for the gravel. I got on the enduro rig after a short ride on this though.

Also, the wife noticed the shoes and just said, “why are there boobs on your shoes?” As she laughed and rolled her eyes.

I've been looking for hardtails as well, for 27.5 the Ragley Marley always gets really good reviews and chain reaction cycles usually has frame only for $400-ish.
If you happen to be XL they have it on clearance for $200.Screenshot_20230403_205908_Chrome.jpg

Another 1 I've been looking at is the highly praised nukeproof scout.

Got new, much needed tires for the Bronson, went with Minion DHF/DHR II.

Those Rawland bikes look great. I actually just got their titanium rack for my Rodeo Labs bike.

That's funny. I had a similar first-ride experience between Utah snowstorms on Sunday. Just bouncing around on light trails and dirt roads, the 27.5 x 3.0 tires are really nice. I think I need to go lower than 10psi when unloaded to really accentuate the bounce factor. This is my first experience with cable-actuated disc brakes. They definitely don't respond like my hydraulic brakes. However, I probably don't have them properly bedded in.

I also have the same BCA shoes! My wife's question was a little different though... "Which set of boobs on this shoe looks the most like mine?" Ha. Gotta love it!

Following up with my experiences here.

The Hope 160-203mm adapter does work. Installed today, no issues.

Step 5 of the Hayes procedure - I could not get the master cylinder plug out. It eventually broke, I removed the compression nut, still couldn’t get the remainder out of the olive. The remaining piece would spin but not pull out. I tried using a pick to press it out with not luck, I twisted, I soaked in isopropyl, no luck. Eventually I was able to drill it out but the olive was out of round at that point and the barb wouldn’t go back in.

Step 6 - The hose plug appears to be threaded. The instructions don’t mention unscrewing it but after several good tugs I decided to try to unscrew it and it popped right out.

I am now waiting on a new compression fitting (olive and barb in 1 piece) to arrive. Hayes is out of stock and so are all of the other major online vendors. I finally found a shop in Charlotte that is supposed to be mailing me 4 fittings out tomorrow. When I spoke to Hayes tech support they didn’t know when the new style barb and olive would be available and said they would not be getting any more of the old style.

Still think the price was completely worth it.

When I need a quick break, but still wanna be active. I take breaks where I notice tires leaving trails.

I swear people want to ride mtn bikes, but they’d take a straight line from point a to point b if given the chance.

    Just small deterrents.

    THAT WILD. Literally

Dude yes it blows my mind how lazy people can be when riding their bike. Disposable water bottles are also a huge issue with our most popular trails. Like clockwork after the jumps you find a collection that have rattled out of the cages

I need some advice, suggestions on a new bike rack. My Tacoma was rear ended on Monday and my hitch mounted Yakima Ridgeback was totaled. I would prefer to mount my bike in the bed, or tailgate pad. The Yakima hitch mounted rack was used only twice, but I was not real happy with how it performed. After the first use, the brake cables from my bike had already damaged the "pad" that the top tube sits in. Also, it is more time consuming to properly mount my bike to the rack and secure the front wheel, etc. Any recommendations for bed or tailgate options would suit my needs. Pictures are always appreciated. Thanks TW and enjoy your ride!

These may have been spots that people pulled off to let others around or maybe they got bucked a bit and it threw them off trail, either way most won't get off the bike to move the stuff now.
Keeps erosion down this way, which this is a trail we can ride in the rain simply because it does not hold water, it's a ridgeline trail on top of the mountain.

One of our trails at the bottom that people stacked logs up to block "STRAVA" lines someone went through there and pushed them all off the trail. Who has that kind of time to purposefully destroy someone's work.

can't really go wrong with a tailgate pad either. just get one of the newer ones for a smaller truck so the flap works with the backup camera if you have one. i would have gotten this if it was out when i needed one https://www.thesensus.com/taco-pad?...rHX95phqa0UVDxOyUsDVRvtFyYhJFk_UaAkpxEALw_wcB just looks cool with the pockets and stuff.

my dakine dlx works great. wasn't a fan of the fox one, returned it after one use. bomber strap is nifty if you ride solo and use a trasharoo or something else on your tailgate. some companies make half pads also

I still haven't received my bike...but since it's taking so long, I think I'm going to change my order from a Giant Trance to a Trance X. The X has more travel, front and rear. I don't REALLY need it, but it's only a $50 difference between the two bikes. Now my question is, what color? I'm thinking Chameleon. Thoughts?

LOTS of pad options out there. i currently run the evoc tailgate pad on mine. I have used the yakima tailgate pad and while it was nice and spread out the bikes pretty well, the velcro straps lost their stickiness very quickly and they aren't user replaceable. :/ at least on the version i had a few years back.
