Let the interweb record show that my kids bike was run into the garage on top of my wife's car. It doesn't matter who was driving!

Don't have a pic of my MTB or road bike in the truck, but here's a shot with the Aprilia in it.

The Evil has been great! I've had some trouble getting my suspension dialed in but I think I am getting it right now. The seat stay cracked on a very small crash, which was a bummer. Evil was very responsive on getting me a new rear triangle though.

Thanks man! I love them both! The Following has been a great bike. Not the stiffest and I managed to crack the seat stay. That said, it's super fun. Very fast, nimble beast! Takes massive rides/climbs well but can rip tech and jumps at the bike park also.

Glad to see a fellow Stache rider on here!

I have a three Thule 821mounts bolted to the lid of my toolbox. 2 inch bolts, large washers to reduce flex and nylon lock nuts inside the lid and a bead of silicon around the base of the bracket keeps it all watertight. The UWS lid is actually an inch thick.
    20160228_132746.jpg

Not a complete idiot, the racks don't hit the window with the lid full raised.

    20160228_133102.jpg

Thule also makes an adapter for this bracket to use with through axcels. The 821s run about $30 a piece on Amazon. They also make a locking version of the 821 also.

I have a 1up rack that has worked well. But what's best for long hauls (e.g. trips of 1,000 miles or greater -- like Chicago to Moab) ... would it be better to put your $5,000 bike in the bed? if so, how does one keep it from getting dinged/sliding around? maybe the best thing to do is break it down fully and reassemble, but that's a lot of work

I had two bikes on my Kuat NV going from Chicago to Oregon with no problems. I don't think the 1Up would have any issues either.

Tks for all the info. I want to get the front track and mount it to them. Don't know why Toyota left the the front track off of the 3Gen's.
