I was thinking about renting one from WorldwideCyclery.com but I found a shop that has them in town. I was able to dial mine in without it but I'd still like to check it out from my LBS.

I am actually on their rental page now but I wanna get it on a gap in my work schedule when I can do 3-4 really good rides in the window that I have it.

if you end up renting it before me, lemme know what you think. I may also see if i can talk some of my buddies in the neighborhood to split the cost of just buying one.

I couldn't take seeing all the fancy bikes on here and my 11 year old Gary Fisher wasn't worth upgrading. So, I finally broke down and retired my Rumblefish and bought a Diamondback Release C4. While I have only ridden it 6-8 times so far, I am loving it!

I will let you know if I do it. Sounds like a good idea sharing the cost. From my count, it looks like it would pay for itself in a couple of uses.

I have the alloy woman’s version, the Clutch 2. But I did a bunch of upgrades so it’s more than that now. I’m very happy with the Release line of Diamondback bikes, affordable and good components. I also have a Sync’r pro before they discontinued that and made it Sync’r carbon.

STAAAAHHHHHHPPPPPP! Between this, the izzo from YT and being really REALLY on the fence about buying/building a gravel bike... My wallet/credit score has never been in so much danger. I need somebody to lie to me and tell me it sucks because Transition's new frames are BEAUTIFUL! The only thing I'm not sure I like is that it's a 29"... but I've never ridden one, so.... ugh, this thread is the WORST!

Also... unless I missed it in here, gonna need to see some pics/vids of b-ville!

    Spur for sure bro.

Using your credit card improves your credit score. It’s that whole not paying it off thing that kills it.

I can very much relate to your wallet concerns right now. The short travel 29er segment is really calling my name, too! That Spur was basically the final straw, so now I'm just waiting to see Pinkbike's upcoming "downcountry bike battle" before I decide on anything.

As for pics/vids of Bentonville, I may put together a small set of pics from my whole trip and post them here. Not sure yet. (I took 673 pictures, but didn't get any vids, and most of the photos are simply repeats to get the best angles). The pics in Bentonville also don't do much to capture the entire concept of in-town riding that they've built out there. In real life, the sheer number of trail options and the quality of the trails themselves are almost overwhelming, but I couldn't figure out a good way to capture that awesomeness in my photos. Make sense? I'll see what I can do, though.

Little ride in Pisgah this morning with @eidsondesign . New AssGuy tire did fine up front. Seems smaller than the 2.5” DHF

    ...stuff
    the question I wonder...

if so many people are buying bikes and getting in to the sport right now due to covid....

will there be a ton of lightly used high end bikes for sale when all this is over?

I just had one on my bike (front and rear) for a month. It was helpful but not revolutionary. Rear shock is tuned for the bike but shock Wiz thought it could use more compression... Even though I can't change it. Couldn't get it to go past 84/100 score despite fine-tuning for weeks. In the end, I'm within 5% of suggested psi, no high speed compression, a few clicks of low speed and like half rebound based on its suggestions. I think the rebound is too slow and I should probably have at least a couple clicks of hsc

I’m running the same upfront and I agree it seems a smidge less round than a dhf 2.5. I think it is a better front tire for me.

That makes total sense, man! Do whatcha can, if not no big. I've been contemplating a trip up there (about six hours from my door) to camp and rip. Wonder how crowded, which trails to target etc... but it's all out there when I decide to do it and dig in on the planning portion of it.
