Appreciate the info. I might test out the high roller 2. Researching Maxxis tires and going down a ton of rabbit holes. What’s the word on the Dissector 2.4 and running it as a front tire?

I run it as a rear. Good grip, great rolling speed. Doesn't quite have the braking traction, or full-on cornering grip on loose that I'd be comfortable with for a front tire. Would be fine if you're riding hard-pack though.

Thanks for the feedback. With the lack of rain we’ve received the last two months trails out here are at an all time high for loose over packed. Probably a no go on the Dissector then. Assegai seems legit but the weight is way up there for my liking. Most of the trails I ride are 10-12 miles and half of those miles is a steep/technical climb to the top.

The assguy has set a new standard for mountain bike tire grip. As if folks weren't playing catchup to Maxxis already that tire is everywhere now

yeah. loads of bikes have them on as stock.

The Assguy is a GREAT front tire. I'm running a DD one up front and a DH casing rear (mostly becuase I kept popping exo dhr's so I ran and grabbed the burliest tire at the nearest shop and installed it. happened to be an assguy dh).

I think I'm going to move the assguy DH up front because it has better tread and put a new dhr-2 exo+ or DD in the rear.

Id keep it in the rear. Plus paired with an Assegai up front, that combo becomes the "AssDissector" and that makes me laugh

Find some tires. portmanteau them with Assegai or any other tire...let's find the best tire combination out there! (this is the best scientifically proven way to do it.....right?

Question for my guys - I have a problem on my Santa Cruz where I cannot shift onto the smallest cog, and I will over shift over the largest cog and in-between the spokes (and catapult myself off the bike).

Are these just normal things that need to be fixed over time? I'm debating taking it in to a shop, or buying a bike stand and learning myself.

Takes practice to perfect but I’m glad I learned it since they always need adjustment. You don’t need a bike stand but it does make it easier.
