I might even talk to my eye doctor who is one of my good friends and see what options she has, or recommends. I'm just a super weird case...sunlight doesn't affect me like at all so I hardly wear sunglasses, and they actually hurt my vision on the trails...but then manufactured lights bother the ever living hell out of me.

I run a Light&Motion TAZ1200 on my helmet and 2000 on my bars. The 2000 has more raw lumens, but the 1200 has the better throw, so I use it up top to see ahead on the trail. They have promos going relatively often so I can normally snag them at a healthy discount direct from them.

Looks like they updated it and called it the SECA now.

My riding buds and I ride at night 2-3 a wk cause of daytime jobs. I am a "BIG" Glowworm fan! 3400 on my helmet and 2500 on my bars, I can see really well and keep 90% of daytime speeds. It is pricey but thats what i do for the next 4 months so worth it to me. There are comparable lights and better lights for sure, some cheaper some more pricey but for the size to lumen ratio they're fantastic.
Action Industries is the US distributor (its a New Zealand Co.) and usually run a 25% Black Friday discount which saves some coin. Cant recommend highly enough.

I have the same problem -- vision isn't terrible can drive OK during day without, a bit nearsighted but I for sure have to wear my glasses when driving due to astigmatism, my eyes can't focus light at night. I wear rx oakley flak 2.0 xl glasses and actually just ordered clear lenses so I can wear them at night, I got a fatbike this winter and it's dark so early now :(
They are expensive AF, but so worth it for me. Could get the oakley transition type lens to put in them so you'd only need one set. It makes all the difference in the world.
I just went to eye doctor earlier this week and tried contacts for the first time - I'll actually be able to see through my goggles when snowboarding now lol

That’s good to know!! Thank you for the info. I’m also glad, but not glad, that others have the same struggle.

I use a zebralight on the helmet and a Magicshine on the bars. I do like the Zebra light setup because its a high cri model/somewhat warm, so colors are close to daylight. Will also carry a spare o-light and o-light bar mount for longer rides.

    Edit: On an old helmet.
