I’m with you abacall, it’s been a long three months of smoke filled air here in Colorado. Sporadic rides in here and there. Finally some good air and weather about a week ago just about the same time I wake up and couldn’t put weight on my right foot. In bed for five days and diagnosed with Achilles Tendinitis. I’ve been down for going on two weeks. Did I mention 2020 sucks?

We ship to PR all the time, USPS. Sometimes the addresses can be a bit goofy, but cost isn't bad.

Shit, that sucks man. ‘20 has been a shit year for so many reasons. I also broke my elbow and hand the VERY FIRST DAY of summer break, hard pill to swallow. Good thing about our area is that there’s riding almost year round, it’s just limited. You’ll be out there soon.

Thanks buddy! I’ll get some detail pics and a review up sometime in December. It’s a hell of a ride, and definitely the nicest bike I’ve ever owned.

The problem with living in Utah is I've peaked. I've got Park city, Moab, Colorado, and some lesser known areas in NV all in a 4 hour drive. It's all downhill from here.

I'd consider the Asheville area for Dupont/Pisgah if I had to go back east, but only if I didn't have to live in Asheville. I like my gluten too much.

Damn! The problem is....I've been there....:bananadead: Well, actually, near there - I went through the southern side of the ozarks. Other than bikes there's....nothing there. But, I do like bikes and do have a BSME! Usually that stipend stuff kicks in after ~5 years and it comes in tiers so you actually end up with like $500 unless you check so many specific boxes. Cool beans though! (Most likely a blue light special though).

Fair point. But it beats a place that isn't willing to give you anything to move there.

"Hi! Welcome to Seattle! Here's your 3000/mo mortgage and an assload of property taxes! Whats that? You wanna rent? LOL, get your checkbook out "

With 27.5" bikes all but done and gone, I have resigned myself to starting my search all over again with 29" wheel bikes. Thanks to all for the wisdom and advice in this thread so far!

First of all stand over height is important to me, regardless of what bike shops and Specialized try to sell me on.

    1) What Small/S2 bikes have the least stand over height? Looking for less than 28". Specialized is over 30", for example.
    2) What 29" wheel bike "rides and handles the smallest" I know some of the early (used) models just are huge and ungainly - but newer frame geometry is quite favorable.

I am NOT looking to start a 27.5" v 29" wheel fight. I would never do that. Bog down a good thread. My goal is to buy a bike in the $2000-$6000 range. TIA!!

What travel range / riding style? Lotta dynamite small riders around here are on 29er Pivots for XC / trail riding.

I may also catch some heat, but the Fezzari Delano Peak is a midrange trail bike with a 28.9" standover and is actually pretty good. If Enduro is more your style, the La Sal is a killer as well, but does have a 30+ in standover.

    USA!

    3RD Gen TRD 4WD
Pivot Firebird 29. Even reviews say it’s hard to tell it’s a 29” bike until it’s pointed downhill.

Can be had for under $6,000

Mild trail riding, nothing crazy. Some gravel trails riding with my wife, more adventurous woods trails with daughter and son in law. My last "fun" bike I figure (I'm 62.5 years old but good health and fairly flexible) - Short travel is fine, no big drops, no hopping - but lots of roots and rocks.
