I bought one of these a few months back but have yet to install it. I plan on mounting it down in the bed on the back end corner below where the factory ring is. Not sure how difficult this will be to mount but it’s definitely more secure than the cheap factory rings.

TBH hit any jump at Oak Mtn and come up short you’re safe.

Heck even at Coldwater if you come up short it’s going to be a tad bit harder case, but not enough to really hurt you.

Casing these small jumps would be a good learning experience for when you start coming up short on bigger hits.

It's not really coming up short I'm afraid of. I don't really know what my hesitation is. I know if I come up short it's just going to be a little bit rougher of a landing. that doesn't worry me.

but for some reason every "jump" I come into, on Lightning for example, I don't necessarily understand how the bike is going to respond to being "sent" so I always grab brakes and roll them. I don't know how to be willing to just GO

We going to take the levers off.

Lightening doesn’t need any brakes, and you’ve been riding long enough to lay the bike over at speed in corners.

I don't have corners like that where I ride though. Very new to me still.

Just stay loose and not too stiff. Assuming the jumps are built well you shouldn't need any powerful move to simply clear the jump. Have someone tow you in (speed check) and let it ride

the tow in is what I need, and haven't had.

the drop I did earlier this year was done after being towed in.

everyone says it, but start small. full gas off a curb in your neighborhood. then stack rocks and launch off those. find a bump somewhere and sprint to it and jump a bit. the scary thing about jumps for me is not seeing the landing. once you do them enough you start to get more comfortable with those specific jumps. just takes time

I've done basically all of that, to the extent of like a 2 ft jump lol. they've never been a jump with a "lip" though it's been a self caused launch.

I actually like drops, even when I can't see the landing, so I don't think it's that. Idk really, I'll see this weekend when I get another chance. got buddies this time that are in for it as well.

Yeah those are for events when you need "insurance" and can't use "rusty nails" (APPARENTLY that's a bad thing to do) like in comps or commercial parks/mountains etc.

my dad built me a launch ramp when i was like 12. i wanted a little kicker a foot, maybe 2 feet high. dude built me a 4 foot launch ramp. was so tricky to get enough speed on my bmx bike on the flat side walk. couldnt really take it anywhere cuz i was 12. launching off it was difficult but doable. ended up using it as a quarter pipe on my skateboard

    Damn I would've grabbed those.

    Edit: Why'd you dump them?

I’m going to guess that he’s going to be replacing them with some carbon hoops.
