Not a doc but have stayed at a holiday inn a few times before...

Keep it clean, close with butterfly bandages. The wound being open will allow it to drain/heal from the inside out and mitigate infection.

I had a very similar wound on my wrist from a dog bite recently and that was the advice given to me, and jives with my past experiences in x,y,z medical courses.

    None...

with that wound needing to stay closed I didn’t want to be pedaling that knee at all. Plus the rest of me sort of feels like it got hit by a tree.

you might have changed my mind on my favorite bike color..

edit: also, what grips are those? I like the gray color. I damaged mine pretty good in the crash this weekend and may go away from the yellow..

Most all the colors Transition has been releasing are pretty top shelf IMHO.

anybody else wear the 5.10 Contacts? they look like this on the bottom:

    upload_2020-11-23_8-4-23.jpg

all of the other 5.10s I've seen have the "dots" across the whole sole. I came off my pedals quite a few times this weekend, in situations I definitely should not have and I'm wondering if it's my shoes. they no longer feel sticky to the touch.

They actually feel less sticky... The smooth bottom is supposed to help with float and foot adjustment. I didn't like them, they felt a bit more vague and the grip while hiking, which I find myself doing often to access some steep stuff, sucks.
The lack of stick can have to do with a few things; low temps, stiffness of the midsole, and pedals.
What shoes and pedals are you running?
