not that I'm aware of. Your sit bones are just...there. regardless of whether you mind the gap or not. I could be wrong. I'm also not an anatomist so....yeah.

it's hard to explain, but from reading articles and such I can only describe what I think it is as friction/pinching. this picture shows the "area" I hurt in, but it's the skin, not the bone.

I would think the fat around the groin definitely has correlation with pressure. The fat has to get out of the way or apply pressure to the bones it sits on top of.

I often think it's this. no thigh gap for me, even if I lost a bunch of weight haha. I'm not obese, but at 225 I'm a heavier bike rider.

You think they will warranty it? I highly doubt it, if they see the rock damage it's usually a crash replacement at best.

if it's the skin, then it's just durability of the skin I think. Sounds like you need more ride time. But also try chamois butter. Probably friction causing it. or different underwears.

    that would make sense.

Not likely for warranty. I think you’re correct that it’ll be crash replacement. Hopefully it’s on par with what Evil extended to @honda50r

This could be part of the problem honestly. And why you have friction but not bone pressure problems. No way to sugar coat it, but the "extra material" in the area could allow more movement and friction in the area. But the extra material also keeps you from having bone soreness. Compared to someone very thin who could have bone soreness but not friction problems.

Start with a saddle. It sucks because it's a trial and error thing. Just be prepared to buy, sell, repeat a few times until you fine something you like.

I adamantly disagree with needing more ride time. I'm not sure how many times I could say that. If some folks can hop right on a bike, 0 miles ridden, and be comfortable and good to go with never an issue unless they churn out like 30 miles day 1 and it just gets worn....then I shouldn't have issues within the first 5 miles of riding, when I have ridden many many times on it.

I've only done it from the Radio Tower road climb. I think the RT road is an easier climb than the City creek trail...but they both drop you at the same spot.

I have never climbed up there from the Wild Rose area. I was hoping that you did so I could hear all about it from a reliable source. I've heard those climbs are shorter and steeper (harder) than the City Creek side, but who knows???

that's why I asked for recommendations, of a cheaper saddle, that came in the 15cm size.

    I think EVERYONE missed that?

have you ridden on those? the volt is a bit more than I was intending to spend for trial run one...but the koda fits the bill. which is why I initially mentioned it.

    speaking of saddles....

ive put miles on my bikes, a couple tours, few backpacking trips, a bunch of all day 4-8 hour rides.

every now and then ill get some saddle sores. idk why. im suspicious of my gorilla butt and try to keep it shaved/short back there, but i havent been able to pin point the cause of sores.

maybe my taint gets soft and toughens up after a few rides?

I saw your recommendation on the volt. it's twice the price of the Koda because the steel version doesn't come in wide.

It's a tough one as there are so many factors including saddle, pads/chamois, butter/cream, body type (skinny or thicc), or saddle time which won't solve the issue but it does help you get used to the pain. "Taint durability" is the term someone had mentioned which has made a difference for me.

Have you ever been comfortable on any bikes or saddles?

I need to double check my frame, I may have a spot similar that happened before this trip.
