Look it's not what you want to hear, but no one can really help you with this. You can get recs all day long but in the end everyone has a different ass and recs don't mean much. So pick a saddle in the width you need and a price you can live with and see how it goes. Used will be tougher for you because you'll want something wider than most takeoffs will be, otherwise that's my normal rec. Some companies (Bontrager, Specialized maybe) and bike shops have programs that you can try a saddle, and swap if it doesn't work.

I fully understand that. I wasn't expecting someone to have an identical situation to me.

I asked for a cheaper saddle that came in the size I needed, that someone had ridden on and liked.

Volt? perfect, thanks for the recommendation, no further comment necessary. it's out of stock so I've asked for comparisons/thoughts.

need more ride time? cool, not what I asked, said it from the beginning.

haven't ridden a saddle that comes in a cheaper, steel, 15cm version? awesome, don't comment.

Could also be that the seat post is too high. I used to get horrid chafing and eventually I moved the saddle down like 1/8 - 1/4in on the advice of a friend. Night and day difference, even though the height change was barely perceptible.

Seat too high makes the whole undercarriage rock side to side under pedaling motion instead of just the hip joints and out, and can really do a number.

@jjones.yota just have a seat on this um...trainer...for a few mins every night, and you'll have a leathery taint of steel in no time!

Best to start around a 200 grit and work your way up to a 40 grit.

Yep, you really don't want your hips rocking side to side. Great point!

I may try this too, just small enough to not effect the leg extension.

cool story bro. I never said anyone was a difficult person, but when someone asks a very specific request, that doesn't mean to just rattle off a bunch of other suggestions. all of that wasn't directed at you, but holy bageezus I thought my question was a pretty simple one.

Yeah, real small movements. Best part is...it's free to try, unlike a saddle.

I deleted that not wanting to stir the pot. The point is you are the difficult person. People are just trying to help, so maybe chill with the diva act.

you deleted it because you realized it was a stupid comment, I get it.

I don't know how you think I'm being a diva.

"anyone have a saddle recommendation they've tried under 50$ that comes in 15cm? I've ridden miles and don't need more saddle time, I don't like the chamois butter, I wear chamois"

    answers I received:

    70$ saddle recommendation
    more saddle time
    try chamois butter
saddle recommendation that doesn't come in 15cm
saddle they didn't like (somewhat helpful)

so since a forum of people thinks they have to chime in with everything BUT an answer to the question asked, it makes me the diva?

    stfu.

Great idea. Selling taint conditioning treatments. $99 gets you three treatments

Maybe we need to combine the belt sander and one of those ab belt machines from the '50s and then market it to Peloton!

I thought the same thing, I also thought he should ask you what you did to calm down after the last e-bike discussion.

lol FOUR UNCLES bike seat. I imagine a black leather couch for some reason at that brand name.

yes Amazon is a good bet for cheap "trial and error" seats, but I didn't see the harm in asking for recommendations if someone else had done it first or was currently riding a good cheap saddle. apparently, I was wrong!

No bitching about people trying to help you makes you a diva. You have received multiple saddle recs in your price range and are even planning to try lowering your seat based on a comment that was not what you specifically asked for. It's almost like people who have been doing this for decades might have an answer to a question you don't even know to ask. But sure, being an ass about it is one way to go.
