    My favorite is the traction boards in coordination with highway tires!

    Nice, did a little share as well. Lots of people have never been to Knoxville so maybe it drums up a few calls.

    How long have you had the AP1? Plan to hang on to it for a while? I'm still trying to erase the fact that I sold my AP2 with 50k on it a while back.

    This is year three with the AP1 (and stumpy's actually) picked it up in 2019 after I sold my 06 WRX. No plans to get rid of it yet just started looking into S/C kits for next year hopefully.

    It's never fun letting go of fun cars, regret selling my mk3 supra when I was in college

    not enough.
    I use tailgate pad AND 1up. I havea n EVOC pad.

    the straps ont he pad have been rubbing on my paint ont he bottom. I've resorted to putting microfiber towels between the strap and the tailgate to help prevent further wear.

    yea, plenty of people run tailgate pads without those issues. but I don't see the problem with having a few little scratches. the truck and the bike are both meant to be used, this usually causes signs of use and wear. "Tools, not jewels."

    FWIW, I wash my bike after my rides as well.

    They're definitely not meant for security or storage. They're meant to place your bike easily, and transport from point A to B. If you need to keep your bike secure and/or out of the weather, then yea, you need something else. but for its purpose its a great tool. if you have other needs, then you need a different tool!

    What he said as well as its easy to store when it's not on the truck. I'll be at college next year and I'll have to get a small storage unit anyway, but a rack would take up tons more space in a unit than my Raceface T2 pad.

    I built my own rack system that is almost as simple as the canadian bike rack, but way more stable, and way less potential for damage;

    By far the coolest setup. I'm sure you could also manage to install a solid chain system for security in case you had to keep the bikes on there for a while without supervision.

    P.S. That color on the new Hightower is probably my favorite

    Thanks

    And yes, I'll run a thick bike cable through the bikes/wheels to the D-rings for a little measure of security. Thats how we left the bikes when we were in Moab last time.

    And it's a Nomad :D
