cool beans man! That was a shitty day when he crashed. I actually rode with Scotty way back when. Cool guy.

I consider myself lucky where I live. I live in east providence - Kevin Robinson’s hometown. The town really took to it. It’s a cool little city to the east (shockingly) of providence over the river. Really need to get back out there and ride some more.

Weather is finally starting to clear up here too.
Did a mellow ride today. One of the things I learned from riding motorcycles is not to ride hard when you’re stressed or not fully there. That’s when shit happens. Work is so shitty right now, and riding the bike really helps even me out.
    Damn pretty day.

I think he is talking about female thread vs male thread. But like you said, 99% of mountain is through axle without threads. Sorry for the pedantry.

Close. The BMX female hubs like you posted - the bolts come out on both sides, instead of a thru axle that comes out. I think I remember seeing there was one or two that used a thru axle back in the day.

I see - couldn't quite make out what was going on in that pic in the link he posted. Interesting design.

There might be a market for a “TRD” style bed sticker that reads “SDF” instead. In fact maybe Toyota of Santa Cruz could offer an SDF Edition with tailgate pad, 12V cooler for post-ride libations, on-board air with a Presta nozzle to seat up tubeless, etc. And beefed up tie downs to attach a chain to, so your bike doesn’t get lifted if you stop around town.

the new 'maps' feature on Strava mobile app is pretty slick... seems like they're gunning for trailforks! it's more segment based rather than trail directions but it's free and could guide you on unknown trails in a pinch...

it is interesting how they made that a bigger features. It had been a features for almost a year but it was kind of hidden unless you knew where to look. I do really like how they can generate routes for you. The only issue in my area is that a majority of the short routes that I would use the feature for puts me on the bike path which can be ridiculously busy. At my parent's house it was great though because they are more suburb almost rural, same at my GF's house.

it's definitely hard to say since they just switched up their subscriber model a few months ago. I pay so it doesn't matter to me either way haha

Basically how mine's setup, as a mobile MTB base camp, it just happened to look a lot like the "O word" trend trucks because really they're the same purpose.

Onboard Air with a presta adapter gets to the wildest looks from folks with blown beads. TC bed stiffeners make for real solid places to padlock a chain to that isn't going anywhere fast.
