I just hang the saddle nose from a loop of 14-2 over a rafter. The copper inside keeps the loop shaped, fixed, and open. Hasn’t even worn any marks in the leather.

is it on a dropper? i'm always a bit weary of hanging my bike from my seat/dropper.

many places say its fine, just dont pull hard (torque a bolt or something)

As long as the dropper is fully extended, it would be fine.

You know what I do for truing wheels?

    :spending:

There are few things I give the ol' NOPE to.
    - Domestic electrical/plumbing - I can do a limited amount, but I know I know just enough to be a danger. I know what I know and I'm willing to admit that.
    - Auto body work - because F that shizz.
    - Truing wheels. I spent hours working on it back in my BMX days, I can get the wheel straight. That's the extent of my skill. And for how cheap it is to bring it to a LBS, usually 15$ a wheel, for how infrequently I need to do it, money well spent and I am self aware of my desire to not pick up that skill in my life.

No, just qr. I’m old, still just using a hite rite. At ~ 25lbs I seriously doubt bike weight alone would be an issue for the dropper and the attitude adjustment of the saddle gets hit with several times that from me. That’s where I’ve put it away after rides since I built it up in ‘08. Same Edge cf post the whole time. It’s a Titus motolite frame.

I'm a bike mechanic.... I'll true my own wheels but I'll always pay someone else to build mine. Luckily it's usually just the other guy I work with and I pay him in beer... Which goes in the shop fridge...which I just drink later.

I work with a lot of frustrating messes daily but dang... I hate wheels.

Found a brand new SDG Bel-Air for $35 and it even came in the right color combo. 1.5hr ride so far with NO padded shorts NOR Butt’r (for her). No taint pain.

Compared to the WTB Koda that came on the Switchblade where both pads and butt’r didn’t help. They’re a similar width but the difference is the taper on the sides. The WTB is a lot flatter while the SDG is tapers off from the center a lot more. Very happy I made the switch!

My buddy's shop just got one. Pretty sweet I gotta say. They work on a lot of ebikes, between the townies, MTB, cruisers, and especially cargo bikes, they've been a huge help.

Always liked the Bel-Air. Affordable, comfortable, good looking. Only saddle I like better is the Ergon Enduro.

    https://pedalchile.com/blog/healthiest-beers

"How do you know if the beer your drinking is loaded with this special antioxidant (AO) compounds? Beers rich in AOs have more color, bitterness (hoppy flavor), richer flavors & aromas, and good foam (head) stability. Most craft and artisanal beers are filled with a rich and diverse AO profile, since more hops, grains, and yeast strains are used, with less filtration and minimal processing."

This might be better than the taint-pain discussion

OK, who here has been to BC for bike riding? I have a bonus 2 weeks of vacation next year and the gears are turning.

I'm thinking 9.25 days away -> Friday night to the following Sunday night. My extended family lives in the Bellingham area so I'd prob drive up do some riding there, then cross the border and ???. Here's a tentative route, but if there's anything to add or delete, I'm all ears.

Duthie hill and Tiger mountain are the only places I've ridden in the PNW. Both are great places, but probably only a days worth of riding if you go nonstop.

Jordan Boostmaster on youtube lives up in BC and a lot of his videos show rowdy places to ride.

Sounds like a great trip, you'll have tons of fun
