Looks almost exactly like a vpp to me.

also, first comment on that is gold:

"Ah yes, new riders who are willing to drop 3.7k on a bike. I'm definitely familiar with this large demographic of mountain bikers." :lolol:

My reverb "cable" has never gotten messed up either :anonymous:
I'm not actually trying to suggest that the reverb is better or less maintenance, but there are advantages to the hydraulic system. I'm probably just lucky, but I haven't had to do any maintenance on the reverb in now it's 4th season on my bike. Fully intended to replace it by now but it keeps kicking.

that's what I thought, just don't see any mention of it anymore
Yes that is what I'm thinking haha. Like how many new riders are jumping into carbon full suspension bikes worth that much. I'm more intrigued by it TBH, that price would be tough to beat.

Yeah, i saw the spec and it's actually pretty well specced for the price. I'm intrigued. I'm not in the market for a new bike just yet but still.

I would like to be but I am not haha. Most other companies are putting that spec at $4k or so. I feel like that price is aluminum bike range.

I've had a couple reverbs go bad. The top out turned into a sponger 1" of bobbing while riding. Same story with friends. I think the newer ones are more reliable, but I haven't kept up to date on them. Love my AXS but ive only had it ~8 months.

From my understanding, the newer ones are MUCH more reliable and don't get that squishy bobbing on the top end. I've had a few people run the axs reverb for at least a year and they love them. only issue with them is...well...someone could literally just undo a seatpost clamp and run away with them. lol

You want to know how dumb I am?

This is the first time I considered that.

Off to order tamper proof screws.

True. But if the bike is on the rack, Easy enough to just take the seatpost without taking the whole bike if the bike is locked up.

    Hah! Glad I could help.

I dont leave my bike unattended. Last time I had to run into the gas station I was sweating bullets because I didnt have my lock attached - and of course the lady in front of my is buying cigarettes' and and cant find the exact ones she wants.

yea, I was going to point that out also. I saw that article, and thought that it would be a great way to get my wife onto a better bike, but then the price is still as much as most other mid-high level bikes... I guess we'll figure out another route. lol

someone with a multitool could take off the majority of parts on your bike, not just a seat post. shifters and derailleurs would be easier than a dropper with an internal seat post. might as well take the stem off, cut the cables/hoses, take the whole handlebar setup

Oh, I lock my bike up like crazy if it's for anything over a few minutes. Someone would have to defeat 3 different locks to get any part of my bike. And I still want to attach more.

You're not wrong. Back to security, It's all about opportunity vs deterrence.

I think the point of it being a ~$800 dropper and a single 4mm allen makes it a quick and easy steal. :p

You give thieves way too much credit assuming they know what they're stealing

It would be a rarity that they knew how easy an AXS dropper would be to steal

Yeah. most thieves are just looking to sell a bike for a quick few hundred bucks. It's getting bad here in Utah. TONS of people scour the online places and find stolen bikes and help with recovery efforts. We've even got a so called "bike batman" now.
