That looks like a great fit. Is that how it's supposed to sit too? I have a dakine pad and their recommended fit leave like half the letters on a 3rd gen tailgate visible. I'd like a pad that sits over the whole gate like this one

I had an EVOC and a Fox Racing pad. Both covered the whole tailgate. Any that didn’t were a no go for me.

Vacation last week in Greer Arizona. Didn’t find much good single track, but some great gravel riding if that’s your thing. Views are spectacular though.

Agreed, not a vacation destination but definitely worth your while if you are traveling through the area.

Just bought my first bike. Rode a lot growing up of course, but never actually bought my own bike. In my 30s now and the kids have their own bikes so I had to get one too.
Man did I miss having a bike. Didn't get anything crazy. Just to ride around the neighborhood and to the beach, but man I really love this thing. So glad I bought it and look forward to putting a shit ton of miles on it. Got the bug and now I'm down the rabbit hole in the bike world.
If anyone is familiar with these kind of bikes and could recommend some upgrades to make it even better, I'd greatly appreciate it!20210616_200248.jpg 20210617_173221.jpg

This is part of why I despise humans.
I'm assuming these are from MTB riders who just toss their garbage on the ground and keep riding?
I'll never understand why people throw trash wherever they want like it's nbd.
We're on a living rock, that provides life and amazing places for you to have fun.. oh I got an idea... let's just throw trash everywhere because we don't give a shit.
I was just watching that bear grylls adventure island show... they are on a remote island, 100s of miles from the nearest civilization... and there is trash of all kinds washing up on the beaches. It sad and disgusting.
We don't deserve this planet, at all.
    Anyway... awesome art!

    not enough.
I love my EVOC pad. It covers the entire tailgate. The ONLY thing about these pads is that the strap at the bottom can start to rub into the pain. So I put some microfibers between the strap and the paint to help prevent sharp edges eating away at the strap and the strap from eating away at the paint.

Hah! It took me a second to notice your tuck but I was like, "Oh! I wonder if he left beers in the fridge! I'll take one and leave one!" but you had nothing so I left one. Lol. Got some weird looks from the folks at the shuttle pickup.

I got the pad in and used it for the first time today. It’s so tiny looking compared to a regular tailgate pad. lol

It does the job though. I also strapped the rear of the bike down as it seemed to wobble a bit with only the down tube strapped down. The front wheel is hanging all the way down to the bumper, but I suppose that is normal on these trucks. I’m still not 100% sure how I feel about the tailgate pad. It works and frees up the hitch for other things though.

Back in the saddle! Got a free roadie from a member here. Trek 1220 1992 I think. 93 was Al forks this is the 92 with crmo forks. Needed brifters and a seat. Since I was in there I did new cables all around and new tires. time to get back in shape a bit.

I will say after tearing into it a bit and starting to work with it, it has a one inch headset and the cable routing isn’t all internal. Otherwise it’s an Al frame and pretty much same as a modern roadie. Haven’t decided - might upgrade it over time (wheels stem forks headset cranks mechs) or pawn it off before I move to Texas and just buy a newer factory giant or trek or something.

and that being said - they do make modern one inch forks. So I may end up sticking with this bike. Fits me well annnnd it was the era of standardization where everyone didn’t have their own geometry for every single freakin little thing so you could only get it from them

Anyway. My fat ass goal for tomorrow is a 15 mile ride on it. We’ll see how I do.

Our Sunday morning breakfast with ride afterwards group met today for the first time in 15 months. I’ve been riding continuously and I’m not wild about group rides, but it’s a great bunch of guys and meeting up with them unmasked(we’re all vaxxed) and having breakfast indoors was a huge step back to normalcy. Not to mention the restaurant staff was so happy to see us!

I thought about it, but I didnt make a solid plan with my riding buddies until late last night and didnt have qn opportunity to acquire decent apres brewskis.

Your present was greatly appreciated though. Def a morale booster after trying to keep up with some shredders. Made Puke Hill my bitch this AM though!
