Yes it is, I haven’t ridden yet. That photo is from my buddy that runs that whole park, and he let me know it’s open. So I’m going to ride it in a couple hours.

Bike was filthy after 2200 miles so far on the road trip. Stopped at Over The Edge bike shop in Fruita and they had me all tuned up, cleaned, and ready for some Moab dirt in less than an hour. Amazing shop!

What trails are you hitting in Moab?

Wife blew up her rear hub and were using it as an excuse to check out new bikes for her. She's coming from a pivot Mach 4, which is a true XC bike. She's on a SB140 today. I'm kinda amazed how excited I am for her to be trying something rowdy. I've always felt like she should be on something bigger considering what we like to ride. Gotta keep my opinions in check though so she can pick what works best for her

Good question. Taking a sort of rest day today after a short ride in Fruita. I have a shuttle reserved on Sunday for Hazard County down. Tomorrow I’ll likely try Captain Ahab or Slick Rock. Any suggestions?

I was going to recommend Navaho Rocks. The trail system looks like an "8" with a road cutting through the middle. Perfect for bailing out and just hitting the road when you are done. I would definitely go there before slick rock. Captain Ahab I hear is very legit.

Captain Ahab is the best trail in the Amasa Back trail system, which might be the best trail system in Moab. So many options, incredible views, easy access and "user directional". Lower Ahab is downhill only and that kinda forces everyone else to ride the other trails in the system in the same direction.

Slickrock is a an amazing trail too and a classic but it's relatively short, crowded and isn't very technical. It's more of a challenge of fitness than skill. It does have some amazing views though.

    TL;DR: 1) Ahab 2) Slickrock

Will likely hit that in the morning for sunrise since I’ll be camping out there.

This was Zippity Doo Dah this morning -

Navajo Rocks is ok, they are solid blue trails with nothing too challenging either up or down. Not much sustained climbing or descending. Good views though. I would agree to go to Navajo Rocks before Slickrock if you're looking for a longer, more varied ride.

Ok @honda50r i went and rode it. It definitely needs some work, as in it was clearly built almost a year ago, then never ridden and maintained because they kept delaying shit. Oh well. It’s still very rideable just has grass/weeds on a lot of stuff. But they do have a maintenance day planned before the “grand opening”.

that being said it was a ton of fun, and more challenging than I expected. But I haven’t ridden in 2 months and my cardio is doo doo.

That’s 1 lap with a little session on these jumps. Yes, I suck at jumping. Yes, I’m scared of them. Yes, I will get better. This gives me something very attainable to work towards in town now and it’s 5 minutes from my house! I’m so excited I have this to learn on. Don’t kill me for my terrible jumping (my wife filming called me weak) but I wanted to show you what I’ve got and document my first attempt so down the road I can see how far I’ve come.

She was like “why am I filming this?” I told her it feels way faster than the video shows! And it’s for progression haha. She shook her head and continued her walk..

those look like incredible jumps to learn on. easy to get back to the top?

theres a good area near me, (a bit farther from my new house), but the hike back to the top is killer. can do maybe 10 laps in an hour. not whistler or trestle sized jumps, but some big ones im still nervous to hit

A second vote for Navajo Rocks. Only rode there once but we both loved it.
