When I converted my 2x10 to 1x11 I kept my crank and use a 30T narrow-wide ring on the 104BCD spider. When I first did the conversion I bought a Raceface crank but when I refreshed it this year I bought a no-name Amazon NW ring and it’s wearing well so far. I’d assume that for a 3x, putting the ring on the center location would keep the chain line “ok”. It’s not the brand I got, but I see Ybeki on Amazon offers up to 52T narrow-wide and 104BCD. $22.99.

I ended up with a Deckas 42t nw chain ring. I will try just what yoh suggest, bolt it where the middle of tne 3x setup was and see whats what. Parts show up Friday, hopefully this endeavor works out!

Yeah, I had something like 2.75" of space (if I recall correctly) between the top of the 2" hitch and the tailgate. There is no bike rack out there that provides that clearance even when folded down all of the way. I also use the tailgate to cook on when camping, and taking bikes off all of the time would suck - the swing out allows me to keep them on.

Not sure of all your dimensions and clearance needs to open your tailgate but a 1Up with the side plates reversed may help.

This guy blathers on in what could have been a four minute video but gives a good idea.

Dang, no I didn't even know about it. Looks like a blast though.

The Cycle the Summit in Colorado Springs is this weekend and I try to do it every year.

I had to look that up - Looks like they changed the name from Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb. I assume to avoid confusion with the auto event. Good luck! Ive done it a time or two.. still prefer Mt. Evans!

yea not sure why they changed it this year when its been the same for such a long time.

the starlight spectacular is the same night in garden of the gods. they should have changed that name because it isn't through downtown colorado springs and old colorado city anymore, only through the garden which takes sooo much fun out of it...

You may know this, but each crank arm is threaded different. The old righty tighty is only gonna work on the drive side. The non drive side is left hand threaded. It’ll tighten/loosen opposite.

Not sure if that’s your issue at all.

I have a twisted sense of humor.... bad joke, i do know they're threaded differently. I always remember tighten the top toward the front with pedals :anonymous:

But using a hex wrench on the back side always makes me have to really think about it.

It used to, silly but it always just took me a minute…. but now that’s all any of my pedals have anymore so I’ve gotten used to it.
