Oh, I wanted one. And I looked...but trying to find one at a decent price that isn't snapped up in a hurry is darn near impossible in UT.

 

I can understand. I ordered mine jan2016 custom SR5 4x4 v6 with locking diffs no cc I got a compressor and a shovle for that. The truck didn't get here til June 2016 so I had to be patient(the trd at the time only came with a short bed option as well) payed an extra 1k for the extra foot of bed and have never regretted it.

 

Honestly, I dunno why toyota didn't make the DCLB in the TRD OR trim until 2018. I would love that extra foot on my '15 with the offroad goodies.

 

The DCLB OR has been available on all 3rd gens. It may have been a limited market, but available nonetheless.

 

Ordered mine custom from the stealership in 2016 and the dclb was not available for the trd OR or the trd sport

 

Not arguing, just stating the fact that the DCLB OR was an option for 2016+.

Perhaps it wasn’t available for early orders such as yours, but that trim was indeed available for 2016+. Plenty of members on the forum that own just that truck.

 

Anyone have use the over the tailgate method with road bikes?

I've never had any trouble angling the bike other then not being able to fit other bikes in the bed. It only happens once in awhile so I just leave the tail
gate open.

A friend of mine hauls his mountain bikes on his Gen 2 Tacoma with the tailgate pad but his first time hauling his nice road bike he had significant scratches on the bike fork.

I will stick with my 1Up for my road, gravel and mountain bikes.
