You live in Missoula! It's on my short list of places to check out whenever I've had enough of all of the people in CO... hoping to do a road trip that way maybe late spring early summer to check it out. Are there a lot of good trails there? I love Colorado but after 13 years here might be looking for a change down the road. I love the desert though and Moab so that would be a big downside to me. How long is your riding season? lol sorry off topic. I'll post some bike pics soon to make up for it :)

Yep, I do. And its awesome only down side is Jobs are not as readily available but its getting better. Yes lots of great riding, but sadly another down side is the riding season is cut short from winter. I'd say in a good year you can bank on 7 months of riding. Last year I finally just started traveling to get some off season rides in. You can make a weekend trip to the seattle area fairly easy. I would definitely recommend visiting its an epic town I moved here from seattle about 12 years ago for college and never looked back. I honestly feels like a tiny seattle that was dropped in the mountains. Also technically this is still on topic there is riding in the discussion...

I chose this set up that way I can carry my bikes in the bed when I pull my Tiger Moth. Also, this allows utilization of the bed to put gear in the back. I could not close the tailgate when I had the mount in the rail system on the front of the bed without having to completely air down the rear tire, and then it still compressed both suspensions, so I opted to go for this. As it goes for the fork mount, I went with what was cheap. I have a boost fork so I went with this. It does its job. I must admit I not a huge fan of taking off the front tire, but it works and is very solid. Hope this helps.

Since I love browsing this thread because bikes are pretty much my favorite thing ever I figured I should post up some of my bike setups!

Here is my topless summer taco set up in Crested Butte this past summer

    1.jpg

It's the yakima bedrock bars with the yakima frontloaders with the cargo basket in between... this setup works pretty well for the most part, easy to get to the bikes when towing my camper, can store a lot of crap underneath the bars
    33.jpg

This was in Utah in the fall after I added the topper back on for winter. Much easier to haul gear securely under the topper this way, bikes are more of a pain to deal with. This is a bike rack that goes on the tongue of the trailer. Not ideal but seems to work OK

    54.jpg

My least favorite set up -- the yakima racks on the roof bars. Ok for long distance travel, annoying to deal with putting bikes on and off at trailheads, etc. Would've been easier to throw them in the bed but had a sleeping platform in there. This is on the way down to Sedona
    444.jpg

I also have a north shore rack for the hitch, that works pretty great too... just can't use it when pulling the camper. Maybe down the road i can get a hitch on the camper and then be set!

This is my ride I do a lot of days out the back door of my work, it's the peaks trail between frisco and breckenridge. Making me wish it were summer, although we are having a great snow year. I think it's time for a bike road trip :)

Great looking set ups! I've considered getting a little trailer for longer trips. Cute pup too.

The trailer is great... nice to be able to have a nice warm shower after riding all day!

And i've added a new pup to the mix in November... she's now an 18 week old german shepherd pup. She will be a trail dog in training when she gets a bit older!

Also for just a little taste of missoula here are some pics. All of these riding areas are about 15 mins from center of town.
This is Pattee canyon which is about a 15 min bike ride to the trail head right from my house:

    IMG_5926.jpg
This is Blue Mountain 15 mins to trail head from work, this is over looking Missoula:
    IMG_6086 (1).jpg
This is Snowbowl the local ski hill pretty small, two chairlifts One single track trail that takes about 30mins to descend but a summer pas is $30. Also about 20 min drive from town.

I put on board water as a priority before this season for just that reason. Nothing like a 3 day riding weekend to makes you feel gross AF. Or just 1 long day riding down TWE in Moab.

Sold! I'm so in! Gonna spend a little more time getting out of dumpster fire shape and head that way!

I may take you up on this (as long as you don't mind frequent stops for the wheezing to subside)!

Her coat is very striking in person, so black and shiny! People thought she was a lab puppy for the longest time until her ears popped up. She's smarter than me so we are going to do some obedience classes together soon. She's learned every trick I can throw at her.
