I was on a Specialized Rockhopper 26" hard tail for about 8 years, then a SC Bronson V1 27.5" 150mm F/S for about 5 years and now a Yeti SB150 29" 150mm F/S --- the 29" has been awesome all around for me.. rolls over everything and plows going down!

When I road some 29" bikes back when I got my Bronson in 2014, they were pigs and I swore I'd never ride one. Now it's like holy shit lol.

I am curious about running a 29" up front and 27.5" in the rear though.. seems a lot of the enduro guys are doing this now..

Took my 16yo for his first MTB ride today...he had a blast, and think I may have lost the Trans Am to him

Love the scenery and terrain in AZ. I'm currently down at Fort Huachuca for a few weeks and wish, more than anything, that I had my bikes with me!

Congrats on successfully raising your kid to love mtb! You're going to have the very best riding partner for the rest of your days, which is about the gift anyone could ever ask for.

I just finished wrapping my toptube with some old bar tape to save my frame from bar strike. Do you guys think I'm being too paranoid?

I didn't have a Stance but I did have a Reign a few years back. It was fairly inexpensive for how much bike it was which I liked. Other than that I can't say much. Maybe try looking at used bikes in a local buy and sell website, or trying out PinkBike classifieds though? You could easily get a bike with better components for nearly half the price of a new Stance.

Made a primitive bike rack out of a 3.5x3.5" and a 2x12" - the circles on either end will have fork adapters, one quick release one thru-axle with space for cargo/wheels in the middle. The 2x12 fits pretty comfortably in front of the wheel wells but I want to get outdoor grade foam as a movement/noise dampener as there is roughly an inch and a half of space. The two black brackets work fine as handles to carry it because I have pretty short arms, and I plan on getting a cable and some padlocks to make it look slightly more daunting to a thief albeit I'm sure it won't stop someone who's determined to steal. I'm not terribly worried about theft as there will always be someone in the truck watching the bikes, but if I have to leave the bikes alone, at least someone will notice what some jackass is doing before they actually get everything cut off and out of the bed.
Now I just need to wait until the trails are clear - there's still 1-2 feet of snow everywhere I go and I don't think that'll melt any time soon (we just got more snow today lol).
edit: only cost $80 CAD for the fork mounts which is a fraction of any other system I could have purchased.

I've been thinking about the same setup for my bed. Where'd you get the fork mounts from?

There is a pretty good review on YouTube about the Stance. Link is below. I looked at them for a good bit. They are entry level full suspension bikes that you can’t really go wrong with. However, I did not buy one due to the limited amount of travel it had. And that may not affect your choice but it did mine. I ended up with a Trance 2. Which is the highest end of their aluminum trail bikes. I walked out the door for around $2,700. Which included tubeless tires, dropper post and 1x drivetrain. I came from a Giant Talon 2 which is their entry level hard tail. Great bike but just not what I needed for my intentions. For the money, the Stance is a great bike. Would recommend.

Bought them from a local bike shop, they're Evo brand though. I don't think the best quality but it shouldn't be an issue if they're just fork mounts drilled into a board. Rocky Mounts makes one too but those were far more expensive ($30 vs $60)

Hey everyone! I just got a bike and am looking to get a mount for my Tacoma! I want something slick that can go on top(?) of my tonneau Bakflip MX4. Any suggestions? Thanks

Man, I wish I was into riding when I lived on Guam! Some great terrain there that I never really explored in the short time I was there!

I'll be watching this for other replies, but barring a new option I'm not aware of I think you're SOL trying to mount bikes above the Bakflip (I have a Bakflip as well). I do think that the KB Voodoo rack (full bed rack, not the crossbars) will work with the Bakflip if you also buy some brackets they make to work with the MX4, but they add height to the rack, and at that point you're more or less mounting the bike at roof height. Plus that's a big spend unless you're going to use a bed rack for other stuff as well. I'm having a bit of buyer's remorse with my MX4 for this very reason, though I do like it otherwise, and just use a hitch rack for bikes.

    I got a this:

    https://rockymounts.com/collections/truck-mounts-adaptors/products/driveshaft-track

That I plan to mount to the front part of my tonneau cover, and some d rings so I can strap down my rear tire. My truck is leased and came with the cover, anyone know if I drill some holes in it will I end up having to buy a new cover?

Trying not to loose bed space and want to be able to lock my bike (somewhat).

I’ve never leased a vehicle but I personally wouldn’t drill anything into something I didn’t own. Just buy a tailgate pad or a hitch rack.

I have been looking at the used market but at least around here everything I could find used that would fit either of us was well over the $2000 mark. We went yesterday and checked out the stances. My wife loved it and was riding up over curbs and rocks, which if you knew her would let you know how comfortable she was on it. I actually ended up with a stance 1 and my wife went for the stance 2. We will be picking them up tomorrow and hopefully the rain won’t be to bad and we can take them for an inaugural ride.
