Having wrecked my bike when I was in grade school, having road rash for two weeks, and major brain trauma with no recollection of what happened, I'd suggested one with a chin protection

    list is growing fast
That's a weird comment and distracting from the fact that discoverable meta data about about how fast and where people ride has directly contributed to anti bicycle legislation. It's a fucked up and unintended consequence to it.

    I maintain. Keep it private.

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not? lol.

I haven't built any of my own trails, but I do go out and maintain those hidden ones. In my area there's lots of built-by-the-city trails to keep the masses busy, but there's lots of trails not on Strava, Trailsforks or the like. Since they are more... natural.. they need some regular maintenance to clear trees, fix ruts, etc. Most of these trails you have to walk your bike in to avoid making them easy to spot. But man are they fun, and a little scary. Being spring, there's lots of that kind of work to be done right now. It's crazy how fast one winter makes a trail almost disappear.

i run ATAC on all 4 of my bikes. i love them. the CF ones are pricey so only have those one 1 bike, the lower price point ones are plastic but still very good.

I highly recommend Bell after a very serious bike accident and no brain damage. Bell did wonders!

The only thing that really kept me away from the ATAC is what looks like a poor design for clearing mud when clipping in. That big housing/body under the cleat retaining clips just looks like it would pack up pretty quickly. It's one of the reasons I stay with the Shimano XT. All metal body, spindles, and retaining clips really cuts through even the thick/gnarly and sticky red clay we have in the Southeast... man, when that stuff gets wet, it's like drywall spackle.

Got about 4 miles into the woods yesterday before encountering a Land Slide sign, the path had caution cables across a little ways down.

My AL Jeffsy with the 29er DT Swiss m1900 wheelset came pre taped. I just threw the tubeless valves in, put some sealant in and aired em up. good to go
