Was that a jump or a sender? Looked like a good sesh.

Just a rock on the side of the trail. You can see it below and to the right of my rear wheel.

Ah I remember at snowshoe up in WV they have a good rock kicker like that which is always a fun time to hit since it kicks you up right as the landing drops out.

Yep, that's the same thing here. Have to slow way down before you hit it or you'll land flat to death.

Ah thats a bummer we always send ours, but you have to be careful as it leads into a hard right berm shortly after so you got to be ready and the right side landing has alot of choppy rocks.

You can see where I landed toward the bottom, the right turn has my tire marks from the other times I hit it.
First time was in the middle, smash right. Second time was more to the left, land a bit sideways swoop right. Last time I was even more to the left, almost landed in the bushes, lol.

Did it !!! Just pulled the trigger on a MAGNESIUM WHITE / BLACK MAGIC JEFFSY 27 CF Pro M. Excited, but my gut kind of hurts dumping that much money at once on a bike.

Now I just need some advice from everyone on a tailgate rack. Yakima GateKeeper or something else? Medium size for an '18 DCLB OR?

Wondering about helmets too. Poc??? Smith??? Is MIPS necessary???

Sweet bike! For tailgate pad I’d get whatever is cheapest between the brands. I have an old Dakine that I’ve had for like 8 years.

For helmet, yes get MIPS. There are some new technologies coming out but MIPS is basically the standard right now. Try the helmets on and get what fits best. Virginia Tech has started doing some testing that has gotten some attention on Pinkbike recently, might be worth a read if you are interested. It seems to be the only attempt at standardized helmet testing that I know of.

Gatekeeper fits the wider 3rd gen tailgates better than most. Just about any brand fits, the Yakima just seems to fit better.

With the tailgate covers do the bike forks rub or dent the tailgate at all?

So im wanting to get a bed rack system with rooftop tent for my 5' bed taco..... will any of these system/set ups allow for some bikes in the back? Im not really wanting to buy extra mounts, and would rather just hang the bikes over the tail gate.

C4 fab's rack is a great rack and I can fit my large frame bikes under no issue. It works better on a 3rd gen than my 2nd gen because of the deeper bed, but does great!

I have the short bed. You can kind of position it however you want to. The frontloaders stick out like 3 inches out the back of the truck if you have em lined up where the front tire is close to the back glass.
