Seattle blows thats where I'm from. I go visit now and its just silly, a 40min drive is now a couple of hours. Denver seems to be the same way plus cost of living is off the charts. Reno could be cool your right out side of tahoe and Truckee. Truckee is a lot cheaper to live and you could commute to Reno for work. Either way good luck! If you find yourself in Montana look me!

Yeah after going through college and being employed for 6 years, I've realized I would rather have a "fun or easy" job and do fun stuff all the time, than to have to work indoors with grumpy overweight people that stare at screens all day. Now I have about 50K in student loans for a degree where I really dont like the work, but the pay is good enough where I can still have a life outside of work. If I had a different non-engineering job my fun money would all be going to student loans. It almost balances out haha.

All of those places have the highest number of engineering jobs which means it would be the easiest to re-locate to. But like you said everyone is starting to flock to those same areas. Reno seems like it isnt as over populated yet and probably a good choice. My GF has family there which is a plus.

I would love to move to Bellingham, but again the # of engineering jobs there are slim. Everett would be a nice in-between place though with Boeing being there.

Reno is booming right now. I've lived here since 1988 and I like it here, but it is growing fast. Google just bought 1200 acres out by the Tesla Gigafactory to eventually expand their data capacity. My daughter is trying to buy a condo and every one she looks at has bids above asking price. At least the house I bought back in 2004 is almost valued at what I paid for it.

Yea man you just summed it up that's for sure. I have a good friend who was an engineer out of college. He made a butload of money in the oil fields then moved to Texas. After about a year there he hated it. Moved back here took a job with my last employer Aqua creek products for a third of his salary. He says he rather make less money and enjoy his lifestyle. Also Everett is definitely a nice compromise to living in Washington. Hell if you move to Washington you can still come ride in Montana it's only about 7 hours from door to door My house to my home in Seattle, and you had mentioned driving 8 hours to ride... ha

Bellingham has some great riding, but the best part about Bellingham is that Squamish is only 2 hours away!!

Oh man that looks nice! I need to improve my downhill skills a bunch before September and attempting Windrock Bike Park while I am there for the Appalachian Toyota Roundup.

Ok so the bike I just got (Orbea Loki H30) came with a craptastic Suntour Raidon 120mm fork (I don't really care since I got the bike so cheaply) what would you guys recommend I replace it with? I don't need anything "pro" spec, but I'd like an improvement over this fork, which has horrible rebound adjustment. I see some take-offs on Pinkbike, but many of those exceed 120mm, and I don't really want to change the geo of the bike.

Eventually I want to change to a 1x drive train, but that's another topic all together.

edit; it's a 27.5 plus, so it would have to be a Boost fork.
