Seems that alternating vertical style is the best way to save space. only having about 8 feet, it is gonna get tight.

The wife shuttle , departs every whenever-she-feels-like-it.
    I’ll dm you my digits.

I’m partial to the feedback sports velo hinge. Allows for vertical storage that swings, meaning more bikes in smaller spaces.

Seeing how long I can keep stock(ish)
I was always led to believe, that with hydraulic discs, vertically was not the best idea.
That being said, I would love to be able to hang them up off the floor.

I just hang my road bike from hooks in the floor joists in the basement.

Or make a couple, that’s a steep price for a small piece of metal.

Very true... Actually didn't really think of that at initial look but they do look like they can be easily made.

Is this what you’re referring to? If so, the answer is yes. I’ve seen several folks run this setup. This photo courtesy of @Dre_Le, was just the first I found to show as an example.

Edit: or look at the first post of this thread.....

Definitely true but my bikes are in the middle of the house and apparently aesthetics "are important". My house was a lot cooler before she moved in...

I screw these hooks into the wall, spaced out based on what bike I'm hanging. There's really no reason to buy anything fancier. If you want to keep the front wheel from turning, cause there's a tendency for the bars to turn one way or another, place a small block of 2x4 on either side of the hook to block the wheel in. Cheap. Simple. customizeable.

Consider yourself a lucky man to have a house that is bike-inclusive. I can't tell you how many friends I've lost touch with that were "forced" to part ways with their "dangerous" hobbies once they got married.
