Today was a good day. Here's my N+1.

Semi-custom 2020 Surly Krampus. It's intended for bikepacking... possibly even singlespeed bikepacking if I get too lazy to reinstall the gearing. :headbang:

    Running a Cane Creek in-line coil on a 115 travel Devinci Marshall with 27.5 x 2.8.
That coil is the bomb on any frame with kinematics that can handle it. You’d need a progressive frame to avoid regular bottom outs, but it’s smooth AF. Feels way deeper and much smoother. Due to short travel it lost zero pop and playfulness. I’d actually say it has more fun built in since it’s less likely to buck me off line.
Granted it needs time to get it dialed in, but that’s part of its magic. You can get it to feel how you want.

Yeah buddy! That’s perfect the way it is. Get on and ride it!

Somewhere between 8 and 20 miles usually. Usually spend ~half of it climbing, then enjoying the down on the way back. Sometimes smoother flowy trails like around Park City, sometimes techy chunk like around Moab.

Well, the mountains are covered in snow this morning. I dare say that Wasatch range riding may be done for this season, and it's back to the valley trails till the spring. Dang, I was hoping to get one more Crest ride in.

I would say both. I have days where I'll load up on water and just start pedalling for distance, then I have days where I go to my local riding spot that I have ridden like 1000 times and try to beat my PR. I think both is good for you in different ways. Some really fun rides around here that you need the endurance for, but that quick pace cardio can really help you out other times, esp if there are techy spots that you need to jam on the pedals to make it.

@InfernoChalupa if you have a college or HS campus around, go ride around there as well. You can build skills hella fast shooting down skinny staircases, doing small drops, etc. Really helped me progress my riding, and it was fun to set up little urban challenges.

Those balance / strider bikes are making some serious grom shredders here in UT. Unbelieveable what some of these kids can do. After Rampage, if you go to the old site, Backcountry holds "Grom-page". Amazing to see 8 year olds hitting 20 foot stepups!

We just picked up a balance bike for my 3yr old daughter for her birthday last month. Pumped to get her rolling.

Also somewhat bummed I didn’t see this Commencal first.
    A) It’s quicksand, so BA and matchy matchy with my truck
    B) I’d feel way better about holding onto to it for my 1yr old son when my daughter outgrows it. :facepalm:Not so much the pink one we got her.

Hells yea. My local Trek store has Strider bikes so I just went that route. Prolly could have saved a few bucks by going the Amazon or Target route.
    I like your style

Well my 60 mile bikepacking loop in the Swell got squashed for this weekend. Good chance of snow, 30-40mph winds for super fun pedalling, and my riding partner came down with strep this morning. :( Downside is weather is rolling in for this weekend and is gonna take out ALL the good spots for a few days.
