Hey all. Anyone living in Cali that has an extra fork they're willing to part with? I just bought me a Nishiki Colorado comp from a coworker and it's in rough shape. Just stripped it down and painted it. Need me a fork now....

    Thanks for sharing. Always wondered.
I think you and I have similar riding styles so that helps.

Anyone have any experience with quad lock phone mounts? They look pretty good but I cant decide between trying the stem mount or the out front mount for a MTB. Will eventually add some sort of quad lock mount to the truck too if I like it.

Ive used one on my road bike and its a solid mount. Though a bit rediculous looking if you have a bigger phone.

Damn, 12 hours of driving isnt fun. Especially if you are in E. Tenn, where there seem to be amazing trail networks a lot closer.

I agree on our riding styles. As a whole our crew has ridden some of the best trails in North America and we are all used to long climbs and longer descents. That is not the case in Bentonville. Also, everyone was tourists (including us) which killed the vibe.

I know this sounds snobby but it's all relative-I had previously heard mixed opinions of Bentonville before our trip. I've ridden some really great trails all over but maximum <300 feet of climbing, 3 minute descents, and marble terrain just weren't that great. And you're right, a three hour drive would be justified but twelve hours was not.

For sure. For twelve hours we could have ridden the Kingdom Trails in Vermont. But that's ok, a few days in the woods is always better than being at work

I may be taking your comments out of context, and if that is the case I apologize. But is it possible that your preferred style of riding and terrain just don't align with what Bentonville has to offer?

No by all means you're right. But to assume people want to ride longer descents and actual dirt is not a stretch

Understood. In all honesty I'm only loosely familiar with Bentonville. I'm aware of its existence and the spotlight it has been accruing. But I don't know what type of riding is being portrayed as being available there.

Its definitely understandable to have one set of expectations of a destination, only to find reality is something different.

And that is one of primary complains. We felt mislead considering the bold claims of the shredit videos and PinkBike banners. MTB Mag even called it the #2 best place in America...seriously? Walton Foundation pumped serious marketing cash into this place and overhyped it.

Thats a bummer man. If I ever have the opportunity to ride there I'll still be looking to give a go. My style and preference leans much more toward the varied terrain, pseudo classic XC/Trail vs singular long climbs with long descents.

Relative to its location it's good shit. Lots of Texas, Kansas, and Missouri folks out there.

I don't care if you believe me. I've ridden a lot of good shit-Bentonville was average. You really think he made that endorsement without getting paid? They even flew all the youtubers out there for endorsements. They're buying this publicity
