Oh contraire my fellow batchelor bro! That just means we don't have to answer to anybody else! Be glad you can't take his advice, because you don't have to!

I have talked to a few locals with them when I was looking at them. They are solid as, and well worth the investment. Heed @paleh0rse 's warning on the design differences.

Oh man, I have learned to just stay home those days. So much work, so little payoff, but dang is it a good leg and cardio workout!

My preferred method on pow days is to put the bike back in the garage and grab the skis; enter the white room!

The glory of fat bikes is the conditions for great skiing are not so great for fat biking and vice versa. Now being in Kansas, either air down and bulldoze or grab a pair of snow shoes, hike it in the AM to pack it down and ride it in the PM

I got the crossbars that came with the Mobtown rack powder coated at a local shop.

That's certainly an option. What did it cost ya?

For those looking to replace their 80/20 Mobtown bars with a black version, the order should look exactly like this (specific length, tapping, etc):

It set me back $75 to powder coat both

oh hell yeah, that's nearly half of the cost for new bars from 80/20. (the invoice above isn't mine btw. I got that info from someone who replaced the bars)

If the silver bars begin to mess with my OCD, I may have to go with the powdercoating instead.

My air pressure is pretty low, but I haven't messed with it enough to figure out what is ideal for different conditions.

Good cardio for sure, and I couldn't have ridden in that powder for too long. I live on a dirt road that has a nice hard packed snow cover, so I ended up riding on the road to get some mileage in.

I do that sometimes. I'll even do that before cross country skiing, depending on conditions.

    Okay, going to order...
I have the Voodoo bars, so, the hardware will go right through. Just need to know which hardware option to choose.
I should have it by this weekend if I get my order in soon enough

I wasn't going to clamp, just bolt directly to.
But, I will do that, and consider revision later.
    Thanks

Meh, my wife doesn't give a shit what I buy, add, or sell... doesn't mean she knows when things come or go, but we maintain separate accounts for a reason. My bikes make me happy and she knows that, as does everyone in the family so I get zero grief if I add another to the quiver or add wheels, etc...

Find the right one and your life will be enhanced rather than encroached upon...

Not saying spouses are bad by any means and the right ones are hella rad! I merely observed that we are only accountable to us.

    All of this^^^^^^

Problem is, my wife is the epic enabler.
She doesnt bring income home, but, she handles everything else. I make sure she has, or has access to anything she wants, has a slick car, etc....
Her moto, "You work your ass off, take care of us, blah blah, you want it, get it"....

Which is kinda how I ended up with my Taco... she didnt play the wife card right....lol

Which leads to.... well... my stable..... lol

Find the right woman. One that wont change, with time/money. The right woman will enrichen your life, and WANT yiu to be happy as well. But, it certainly is a 2 way street..

    Touché..
But, that is me being cheap/indecisive.
Been tossing around a full stache, or a stache9.
Stopped looking for a bit, especially, since I havent pedaled since Sept...

Right now, im all hot and bothered for the Indian Challenger. Hasnt been a new bike out in years that made me keep looking back at it......

Oh well, future is too uncertain right now

    Here are my bikes-

    2003 Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird and 2019 Harley-Davidson Fatboy.

Plus all of my riding gear and accessories.

Moved them a couple of states away, to the finger lakes, for indoor winter storage.

I couldn't figure out why the photos were foggy, but it's related to dog nose prints. Long story.

After this trip, I found myself wondering how this same rig would tow with a lift and 285s. As it was, I was getting 12mpg on the fully loaded trip, and 14mpg on the trip towing the empty trailer.

It's a great bike. I got it brand new back in March 03, only have 15k on it or so. I got the HD in April and have 2.5k on it already.

It could be my age, but it's more comfortable and easier to putter around slowly while listening to podcasts.

Having said that, the HD can't do mid to upper triple digits uphill with smooth ease and plenty of throttle left.

Here is the bird somewhere on the New Jersey shore with some travelling luggage on board:

And here is the Fatboy doing motorcycle support for the American Cancer Society bike-a-thon from Philadelphia to Atlantic City (notice the other blackbird in the background):
